opinions on the name Summer?

Hi everyone

My husband and I really like the name Summer for a girl, it has always been the front runner although i just know our families are going to hate it! Do you think its silly to name a little girl Summer when she will be born in February?!


BTW we dont actually know its a girl and we are totally clueless when it comes to boys names!

I don't think it is limited to a child born in the summer either.

My name means "born on Christmas Day" and I was born in June

Also names such as Holly / Robin, Noelle aren't limited to Christmas babies?

I was having the same conversation with my OH today about the name Leo for our little boy due next month. I'm due on the 26th which means if I'm early he'll be a Leo star sign and late he'll be a Virgo. I was saying would it be weird to call him Leo and him be a Leo, or weirder to call him it and him not be one - not that I'm a huge astrology fan but when I hear Leo I think of the star sign! Eventually I said I didn't really care what people thought about it!

I think if you love the name then use it regardless, after all, Summer is the best season!

Summer is a beautiful name. This is your child. Don't let anyone put you off naming the child a certain name. Way I look at it is you've carried that child for 9 months, pregnancy isn't easy, you will continue to care for said child for the rest of your life, provide for the child financially physically etc so I feel no1 has a right to say anything about name choices other than the people who made the child.
It's a subject that really rattles me. Can you tell? Lol. Too many opinionated people out there and put people off something they want. Xx

I love the name summer but then I will as its my daughters name lol she was born in jan my partner chose the name but I love it her full name is summer jayne

I think she will probably be Summer Leigh (my hubbys name is Lee!)

I love Summer, its very pretty. I know a summer who was actually born in November and I have never even thought twice about it. To my knowledge she has never had anyone remark on it. Very pretty name x
