every minute programme, that women that was on her 5th baby she made it look like it was really easy!! after to squeals and that was it, although little one would of been out quicker if she had turned round lol. x

Think the gas and air helped a lot with the noise - hard to scream with that stuck in your mouth!!! It does get easier cos i suppose you know what to expect and the pain is less - in theary!

arghhhh when she wouldnt turn over i felt like pushing her so hard or shouting at her!

She knew what she was doing though....she stayed calm, stuck with what was working for her and once the water's popped a couple of pushes and she was done.

Yeh I dont think they gave her enough credit, she had done it 4 times before after all. That birth made me wail, think it was all of the emotion that that family had contended with

it was a fab birth! I was really impressed, why wasnt she allowed on her back? SOmeone in the first week was told she had to lie on her back when she was in a different position.

*@?** that, Im going in the water!

I couldn't understand why they wanted to turn her either, i had two of mine on my back with no problems? Could understand why midwife asked but like Mervs mum said she knew what she was doing!
Proper family do though, thought it was great they let sis in too, not sure i'd want that many people around but its a great gift to be able to see someone give birth. I watched my mum have her 5th when I was 16 and got to wipe babes eyes when just the head was born and then cut the cord, I was truely amazed by it all. How do people feel about their children watching?

Evajo I wanted my eldest there for this birth (she's 15) but she doesnt want to be, which is fair enough.

I think they wanted her to move off her back as the weight can compress blood flow which can affect the baby and mother. I cant lie on my back now as it makes me feel faint and weird, its a horrible sensation, makes me go light headed which is strange when you're lying down!

I love that program! perfect it's on while we are pregnant, loved it when the midwife went out and the sister tested out the gas and air! so funny

Im the same when on my back, almost cant breath properly. i knew it was bad for baby and if they were telling me it was slowing the labour down and it wasnt good for the baby i would MOVE lol

On back is quite hard, but she went on her side to push which worked fab :) The position she was in was the exact same as me only my leg wasn't being held it was on a stirrup.. My stomach was doing crazy things, brought back so many memories and emotions from the big day x
