OMG Myleene Klass!!!

maybe its my pregnant brain wanting chocolate but makes me think of the sweets "heros". I didnt know she had a girl until i came on here, i just heard the name and assumed it was a boy, poor thing. Mylene needs a good slap for that! x

I just heard this on the radio and thought I must have misheard! Hero is totally stupid for any baby especially a girl!

Damn I'd better not announce my babys arrival then , her name is Hero

Why does everyone hate her ? I honestly don't know anything about the woman :)

Dunno bout anyone else but she comes across as one of those 'holier than thou' type of chicks. Her face is EVERYWHERE at all times and her whole demeanour just gets right under my top layer of skin!!!

Yep she does seem like that which is really annoying!!!!

Actually it's starting to grow on me...only kidding ! lol

Oh dear :(

Ive chosen Quinn as a middle name for our bean if its a boy but Hero Harper Quinn is just not my cup of tea!

My aunty said before it was a Shakespeare characters name,
But even if it is, I said to her I cant see anyone else rushing to give their kids such delightful names as Shakespeare characters Antenor or Bagot so why Hero? :( she's just attention seeking & abusing her child in the process :( xxx

Not saying I like it much, or at all! But here's the snippet from Babynamesworld

In Greek legend, Hero is the tragic lover of Leander.
She was a priestess of Aphrodite who dwelt in a tower in Sestos, at the edge of the Hellespont. Leander, a young man from Abydos on the other side of the strait, fell in love with her and would swim every night across the Hellespont to be with her. One stormy winter night, Leander lost his way, and was drowned. Hero threw herself from the tower in grief and died as well.

The 16th-century British poet Christopher Marlowe wrote a mythological poem after this story, titled "Hero and Leander".

Hero is also the name of a character of Shakespeare's play "Much Ado About Nothing"

That's quite sad! I wouldn't want to name my child after someone that had a tragic life then killed themselves :-( xx

I agree Amanda! Maybe her PR person named the baby so she'll always be asked why!

What has everyone got against mylene klass? I think she is talented and very hard working. The reason you see her everywhere is because she works hard to make a living for her children. I dont think if somebody on here had called their baby Hero everybody would be slagging the name off like that.

Hero was actually on our list of names for a boy but we are having a girl now so won't be using it. I thought it was more of a boys name, to be honest. We came across it when we were going through shakespearean names for inspiration. But since somebody pointed out Hero was a female in Greek legend it makes sense. I don't think it sounds ridiculous at all. I don't love it but I wouldn't slag off somebody's choice of name for their new baby like that.

Oh and Quinn is her partner's surname so it is baby's surname not a middle name.
