OMG Maisie chocked

We were in the bath and suddenly she just started chocking on nothing it was completly out of the blue managed to pat her back and stop her but shes now done it another two time im absolutly terrified ! What if she does it tonight and i don't wake up !! xx

Hi hon,

That must have been very scary for you but I'm sure it was some reflux or something. I was told in scbu that babies often look like they are choking when they have reflux as the acid takes their breath away and they gag and gasp for air.

Do you have her in your room or a monitor if in another room? I hope it won't happen in her sleep but Id say you'd wake up if it did. Xx

She's on a moses basket on my bed at night, it was so scary she now won't eat so i now have a very tired hungry baby who is just being sick and letting milk dribble out her mouth ! So long night ahead xx

oh this sounds just like reflux to me. Get onto your health visitor in the morning. Reflux is liquid so although she will gasp and it looks awful it wont block her airways like alump of food would. Its awful to see that isnt it. Your HV should be able to sort a prescription for gaviscon for you to stop it happening though.

Maisie didnt stir till 3 am !! deamnded the boob but only lasted 5 mins think shes got a cold as shes a little bunged up and keeps coughing in her sleep so last night she went 9-3-7.30 she gone on me again for 5 mins and has fallen into a really deep sleep again,
