Took receipt of my travel system this weekend and my Mum went NUTS.

Apparantly it's bad luck to have a pram in the house before the baby is born.

Has anyone else heard of this? Being hormonal it's freaked me out a bit, but the logical side of me says it's OK.

Anyone else have their pram/pushchair/travel system already in the house?!?!?!

yep i was told that to! my dad took it to hes house seeing i wernt allowed it

i think it is an old wives tale but its up to you hun

p.s what buggy did you get

Hi Hev

I got the Gracco Sterling Travel System in Town & Country

http://www.kiddicare.com/invt/trsgcostrtnwcntcmpl

It was priced at £229 in Woolworths, we got it for £99 on ebay!!

I'm not usually supersticious, but I suppose at nearly 5 months you've going to have SOMETHING for the baby in your house aren't you? A lot of the girls already have decorated the nursery and get their cots!

my dads living room looks like mothercare lol

ive got the moses basket hear and all of the clothes and bottle etc i would have more but our place is small

I suppose I'm just being silly but it really wound me up!

What are you supposed to do - wait until you've given birth THEN try to buy everything?!?!?!

lol with sore bits i wont be going anywhere! :rotfl:

i would rather be all ready!

So would I!!!

Have you decided on reusable or disposal nappies yet? That's the thing occupying my mind at the mo!!

well for starters i will be using disposable :D i dont think i will bwe very good with reusable

I was thinking the same thing - get used to actually changing a nappy, then maybe progress.......

Going to start stock piling nappies december/january time.

My Mum was just the same & seeing as we STILL :x live with my Mum & Step-dad have had to leave our Pram down in Brighton where my OH parents live till bubs is born

Have everything else here with us though

They have the same superstition here in denmark but my Mum will be bringing the pram over the day before I give birth. I haven't made the cot up with sheets yet though as that is another superstition so my DH wont let me!!!

I don't believe in superstitions unless they are good ones

well i have had my pram for a couple of months and set it all up last week,it was in my dining room but everyone kept falling over it so i have had to clear out under the stairs and put it there. It's all a load of rubbish if you girls want your prams go get your prams :cheer: xx

I have heard that about pram, have seen mine on E Bay shop, going to order it and have it delivered to my mums, but keep baby car seat in house, you need that for bringing baby from hozzie...

Taking delivery of cot next saturday, people in work have expressed shock today, said thats supersticious not to have cot!!?? Hmmmm

Have got loads of bits already in nursery, and will have cot next week

If you are happy to get it sweetheart, get it...we havent got much space really at the mo or I would have it delivered home and sit looking at it all day!! :rotfl:

No i doesn't bother me. Had the pram for mine a couple of months before they were born. I'm not superstitious!

Our travel system is reserved and we have to pick it up by the start of December, we are going to collect it and then leave it at Rich's mum's house as she has two spare rooms and plenty of space.

I wouldnt have it in my house but then its individual choice, im a superstitious old bat!!!

We have loads in our spare room at the moment though; clothes, bath, bedding, nappy wrapper, all the things we have already bought. Like Tasha said you cant expect to go buy it all once the baby has been born!!

Think thats a good idea about keeping car seat at home though Zoe, think we better do that il remove it from the travel system when we pick it up and take that back with us!

You have to show the hozzie you have a car seat now apparently, or they wont let you take the baby out!!!??? You will take it in with you when you go in to give birth, or leave in carfor OH to bring in afterwards xxx

Yeah I think il prob just leave it in the car so that Rich can bring it in when its time to go home

My mum wont let me have the travel system in our house but she is moving so I will send it to OH mum and dads. But I still have Lukes pushchair but she said thats ok, when I had Luke she wouldnt let me collect his pram from shop untill he was born.
The hospital wouldnt let us take Luke ourselfs they put him in the car seat and straped him into the car, i got told of for carrying him accross the ward incase i droped him!

Hi Shaz

I've got my travel system in the house, i don't see how it's practical not too.
I wouldn't worry about it.
It's only bad luck if you believe in it.

I think it's rubbish, what about when you're pregnant with number 2 nd already have a pram in the house?! I am superstitious, but this is parp
We didn't have the pram/buggy in ours house (we didn't buy it till after he was born) and everything bad still happened. :|
