I came down with the flu bug on Xmas Eve, and if that wasnt bad enough on Xmas Day it went onto my chest and turned into a really nasty chest infection, unfortunately I am asthmatic, and bubs is still breech so have the added pressure of his head in my chest!

Went to see the out of hours doctor at the hospital yesterday, where I was put on a nebuliser (oxygen and asthma medication given through a mask), and was also given antibiotics. Within an hour of being home I was really struggling to breathe again so at 11pm DH took me back to hospital where I spent 3 hours in A&E - 6 nebulisers later - as its all they could give me due to the pregnancy we finally got home at about 2.30am this morning. Apparently although my asthma isnt helping the breathing problem, its more down to the chest infection, bubs being breech and the fact in pregnancy your diaphram only works to a third of its capacity - not great when you combine them all together!!!!

Im still feeling rough today, but can actually breath a little better, although am having to sleep sitting up to stop me from coughing!

Hope you are all feeling well

Hope you feel better soon

aww sweetie, so sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better soon hun

So sorry you're ill, how horrid. As you know (as you gave me great advice about it) I had this flu and ended up having problems wheezing too although no where near as much as you obviously. I slept sitting up for a couple of nights too- in fact I found it most comfortable sitting the wrong way round on a kitchen chair with a pillow on the back!

Hope you feel better soon

Oh hun,
I went through similar with my asthma when I was pregnant, and it was the reason I ended up having a section at 39 weeks.

PM me if you want any info on what happened to me.
