two things:

1: we're in norway on hols at my parents' house and after a few days of jars ruben has gone off the home made stuff! one thing is for certain, i will not be giving him many jars from now on.. he had jars for 3-4 days before i had a massive cooking session yesterday. i cooked the usual things that he has (carrots, swede etc.. couldn't get hold of sweet potato and parsnip here :( ) and he screwed his face up at it! he usually eats it all up pronto and wants more! then he was the same today too - only wanted the pureed fruits, not the veggies... i can't believe it... a a few days of jars and then all of a sudden he prefers them to my home cooking... i still got it down him - by giving him one spoon of veggies, then one fruit, then veggies and so on. (oh his little face when he was expecting fruits and got veggies instead... i felt evil...)he must get used to the home made stuff again, so i'll be an evil mummy for a few days!

2: my milk supply is either going down or just not keeping up with ruben! in the last week i have fed him every 1 1/2 - 2 hrs and was hoping to get my supply up (been getting loads of rest, nutritious food, drinking loads of water, feeding every couple of hours etc...), but he is screaming for more after his feed still... i feel shattered and resorted to giving him an extra top up bottle after his midday feed (which will NOT exactly help my supply, but i felt i had to - and then felt guilty as i am really enjoying BFing) i'm feeling like i am letting myself down giving him another bottle of formula as he already has a top up of 6-7oz after both boobies at bedtime - 7pm) mum's friend is a HV, and she said maybe see if a small lunch (like some cereal) at lunchtime after both boobies will help, but i didn't want to give him another meal until he reaches 6 months (he is already on brekkie and dinner in addition to all his boobie-milk) i can't reach my normal HV as i'm abroad for another 2 1/2 weeks, so do i listen to mum's friend or...? oh i just don't know.....

First of all if Oz is anything to go by the foos tastes different or it could be the water you cooked it in :)

Secondly -why dont you want to start him on another meal? it will be so much easier for you if he is hungry and does want ity, if he doesn't want it he wont eat it and as long as he has it after BF it wont interfere with your supply at all :0)

thanx manda. i suppose i just have this bee in my bonnet that since he started solids early i should somehow hold back a little until 6 months... but i have given him a bit of lunch after his boobie for the last couple of days and he's been fine! he had 1/2 a banana after his BM today as we were out and it is so convenient! bananas are the perfect baby travel food!

Could it be a grwoth spurt?? Or even it could be being in new surroundings. Whenever we have stayed anywhere that Seren doesn't know she feeds constantly, maybe for comfort?
