Im in the 2 ww and I have a bit of a dilema and need some advice on what you think I should do.

Ok here goes..........I ovulated on Friday/Saturday (according to Persona) & I read somewhere on the www that the 2nd phase always happens 12/14 days after ov, so if thats the case then 12 days is Thursday next week.

With me so far?

Next week im going aways for 3 days with work on a team building activity from Tuesday to Friday doing 4x4 driving, quad biking and loads of other stuff.

I am going to test before I go but my dilema is this, what if im pregnant but it doesnt show up on any test because im one of the ones who has af 14 days after ov and im testing too early? If I do the activities I could be seriously risking my pregnancy. HELP. I dont want to put the baby at risk, I may not even be pregnant, but what if I am and its not showing on a tests.

Also if I am pregnant and it shows on the tests what do I say to work colleagues, about not doing the activities and not drinking, I dont want anyone at work to find out just yet? I dont mind telling my boss but just everyone else.

Oh dear, what would you do???

Thanks in advance.

o dear, em.......

i think if its shows up the on the tests you could always say your not feeling 100% or something like that

BUT if it doesnt show up i dont know whats best to do as of course you dont want to risk your pregnancy!

what i will say though is life cant be put on hold when TTC, when i was on holiday i never did half the things i wanted "just in case" i was pregnant and i wasnt :( so now i wish i had just done the things i wanted!!

does that make sense :?

Hi there

Sorry to hear that you are worrying!

Mine is only one opinion and of course you have got to go with your own gut instinct but I think that you could spend ages worrying about the 'what ifs' in life that you could stop yourself doing everything 'just in case' you are pregnant.

I have done this for a while now - watching, waiting, being really careful, avoiding the things that I have planned to do 'just in case' I am pregnant and have ended up having 2 very unpleasant miscarriages - so being careful did not help me.

I think you just have to go about your normal activities and enjoy your life, of course, do not put yourself in extreme danger, but carry on and enjoy life.

I feel strongly that the 'worrying' about what 'might' go wrong actually is the worst thing you can do by putting too much stress on yourself.

Most people I know who had a really relaxed attitude to the whole thing and continued to enjoy their lives and live their lives to the max are the ones that have the most easy and care free pregnancies.

Sorry if I sound tough but I just think you can't put a hold on your life because of 'what if.'

Good luck with everything and maybe you will get a BFP before you go so you will know what to do........................

how sensitive is eaarly pregnancy to stress and activity etc?
i have a really stressful job and suffer with anxiety related to the job. will this affect my ability to have a baby? i was thinking about it today when i was hysterically crying and im also in my 2ww!! wel 3ww for me
xxx

Some women feel extreme stress may, but as far as I know there's no solid roof that stress/anxiety can cause miscarriage.

So though of course we should all try and be as relaxed as we can when trying to get preg/ preg. we shouldn't beat ourselves up and try not to feel guilty if we're stressed etc.

As to the other lady's quad biking and 4X4, none of these are specifically banned in early preg. Anything 'high impact' is not advised but biking is only dangerous in late pregnancy, when a fall could harm the baby.

Overly strenuous exercise you're not used to is generally not advised in preg though some docs seem to say it's ok.

What I would do is feign and illness to be honest, I really would, or pretend to be really unfit so you can't go very fast and out of puff in any sport you do.

Get a doctor's note to get out of it, a lot of docs might be willing to write you one for this, and the doc can put a non-specific reason on it so you're work don't know until you're ready. :)

Not sure about stress but any kind of bumpy dangerous activity such as quad biking and 4x4 driving would be very dangerous at any stage during pregnancy.

Some docs seem to think it's worse than others, some people seem to want preg women to mostly carry on as normal apart from high impact or heavy lifting. I would not be comfortable doing it. For want of a better word, skive :)

Maybe ask your doc's advice, actually? :)

I was under the impression that activities such as quad biking would be fine in early pregnancy as the babe is so small it is well cushioned and protected by the pelvic bones, so unless you're gonna throw yourself off or run yourself over it would be OK.

its later in pregnancy that the babe would be more vunerable to these kinds of activities.

just what i heard, not fact!

i agree with chellie.
if you were actually PG i dont think your body would noticed anything different physically. i mean loads of ppl out there doin stressfull jobs and hevy lifting must have found out the were pregnant at some point.
i think its if u think about it, then u gonna worry and thats not good either.

so go to the event dont worry about things im sure things will be fine.

Im really not sure what to do because I read on the internet that too much bumping around such as aerobic exercise was discouraged and is thought to lead to early miscarry?????

Quad biking & 4x4 is surely going to be quite bumpy?

i agree yes, but like other girls have sed u cant go rearranging your life just because u may or maynot be pregnant.

if you rather not go then its up 2 you.

Hi

When I had a chat with the Dr about TTC he advised the only thing NOT to do when I did get pregnant is scubba dive.

If you are worrying about saying why you are not drinking, do what I do in the 2ww say that you are on antibiotics (for UTI if they ask).

Hope tat helps
