oh and by the way forgot to say i know what he has is painful and not trying to say he is being a queen about it as i know its sore, itchy , achy - im not being a super bit*h just trying to work out how i can get on and not feel alone or pushed away! xx

My OH's a right drama queen when he's ill. He always phones his mum for sympathy cos I don't give him any!!

Men are always far worse than us women who just get on with it! Just give him the sympathy he wants and remind him how much you ran about after him when he was ill next time your feeling crap so that he looks after you when he feels better. Just remember it's like having another child in the house when men are ill so treat them that way! I know shingles is painful though and he probably does feel pretty crap, least he will feel better in a few days, us women have 9 months of ups and downs!

Well when hubby was Ill a couple of weeks ago I just looked after him as best as I could and gave him lots of fuss :)
And in return all the time I'm feeling poo he is taking great care of me :)

I let him stay in bed all day or snuggle him up on the sofa-make him plenty of drinks and make sure he takes pain relief-my dh won't take it unless I physically give him it with a glass of water.
I often go out with the kids if I can-he thinks he's gettin peace and quiet wen really I'm doing it to avoid his moaning.

He's usually good to me if I'm I'll,he even took 2 days off work wen I had swine flu 18 months ago. Xx

My OH is very rarely ill but when he is its major man flu, all stations close down, on sofa, blanky, telly, heater on, cups of tea and lots of moaning. His 5 year old son is clearly taking after him too! Id sympathise with him and fluff round him, saves hassle lol x

Thanks ladies all your replies are fantastic and some are soooo funny! thanks for the support :)
i will go all out then, i have been a bit of 'i told you so' because when he experienced the rash it took me 5 days to persuade him to go to a doctors which he wouldnt so finally we popped in a pharmacy and got referrred to docs straight away so if he had listened to me at he could have had anti viral - because of the stage he is at now docs have only gave him co-codamol!

we have had no raised words or arguements - nothing like that i just feel abit down now because how he is being (aggitated mainly) i cant help but miss my well healthy Jon who snuggles and gives lots of affection.

I might even get him a bell to ring lol!
xxxxx
