I have been craving medium steak for days and tonight I couldn't take much more of it! I know I should of had it well done but I couldn't resist. I feel bad now :( Will it be really bad for my baby?
I mean I don't smoke or drink or do anything that may harm the baby but tonight I felt like I needed to have this slightly bloody steak! Hope LO wont be affected by my moment of weakness

you cant catch salmonella or anything like that from steak. its only chicken and the likes. i think it should be fine. as long as it was cooked to a degree

It was pink inside but very well cooked on the outside. I've never liked steak well done I've always had it quite rare. Just as long as it don't hurt the baby coz I'll feel awful if it does :(

Even a well done steak should be pink on the inside if it's done right. I would t worry too much. Same as all the food rules, as long as it's not every day you'll be fine.

In one weekend I had runny yolk eggs for breakfast twice, and prawn cocktail for tea.

Xxx

The risk of toxoplasmosis fron eating undercooked meat is very rare. Don't sweat it hun, sure it will all be fine. Ladies ate raw meat all the time hundreds of years ago and still had healthy babies. X

I understand that rare meat is still ok when you're pregnant as long as it's a red meat (beef, lamb, venison etc) - it's only poultry and other white meats (such as pork) that you need cooked right through. I celebrated when I found this out by having a rare rib-eye, only to find that I no longer like the taste!!! typical! I stopped liking my favourite foods but haven't started liking those that I couldn't stand!

I ate a barely cooked burger from a well known burger chain when I was pregnant with my first, it was pink throughout but I didnt realise (cos im such a pig ) until halfway through lol :) I went mental at them but at the advice of the midwife she said it would be extremely rare for anything to have happened! So as long as you dont do it every day you should be fine hun xxx

i swear a medium-rare steak saved me when in my 2nd tri :)

Jasper came out just fine xx

OMG i completely understand. Rare-Medium steak is my weakness too. Steak is fine it's mostly things like burgers and mince that should be cooked well. Steak is such a fresh meat that it's highly rare to get a bad tummy from.

To be honest anything you eat while pregnant may give you an upset tummy but baby is so well protected it will take a lot to effect your little one.

I'm rare/medium all the way. As soon as baby chip is born ive requested a rare steak, a propper rare one oh and a glass of red. I plan to breast feed but the one should be fine ;)

Thanks for for advice ladies you've made me feel so much better I was really panicking after I ate it! Got to say it was bloody tasty! (No pun intended!) Been wanting it for soooooooooooooo long lol
