*** October 2015 Mummies ***

A lot of people bloat in early pregnancy carrie
Its not baby yet
Theyre teeny tiny still
But youve an awful lot of fluid though
My friends 5weeks pg atm and she sent me a pic she looks massive when normally shes slim. Its normal. Why not weigh yourself ?
While obsessing over it wont help it might be worth knowing purely to help with damage limitation. We cant be good all the time but maybe use as an incentive to eat better x

I on the other hand cant wait for a bump
Lol
Im used to being podgy but would like to have a nice rounded look to my belly than droopy haha

I agree with Mrs, try not to worry too much - weight gain is normal during pregnancy but it is important to monitor it, so don't be scared to weight yourself. If you are worried that you are putting too much weight on already maybe you could incorporate some exercises into your daily routine, like a 30min walk? Sending lots of hugs :hugs:

So I told people at work; the manager and colleges! They all seem very happy for me and I'm glad the cat is out of the bag :)

ladies, I hope this doesn't sound like a image conscious question, please bare with me!

Does anybody feel like they are putting on a ridiculous amount of weight? I haven't weighed myself for a while and quite honestly don't dare, but I feel like I'm ever so round at the middle at the moment. Definitely not a bump as it isn't low, its more around my waist, and looks like I would after eating a huge meal, only twice as worse.

I have suffered with diet issues in the past and although I am well and truly over them and don't feel there is a risk of me slipping back in to those ways, I do worry about putting on too much weight as I know it wont be healthy for me of LO.

For all those mummies out there who are pro's and done this before, do you find that you get a bit 'chubby', then it peters out and looks more bump less weight? I'm just wondering because I know I am not eating as well as I usually do and have been eating a bit more, but I don't think it's enough to make my stomach as round as it is now. Its not bump shape yet, definitely more like my stomach when I weighed about 3 stone more!

I'm so confused!

This sounds like I could've written it myself!

I lost quite a bit of weight a few years ago and for a while I was a bit obsessed with my weight but I've normalised (ish) now. Over the last few weeks I've had an almost insatiable appetite and feel, just like you, that I'm more podge than bump.

My mum put 3.5 stone on with her first and I live in fear that I'm going to be the same! I'm afraid I don't really have any advice for you because I'm in the same boat and don't know what to do either. Maybe keep up your regular exercise and try not to worry about it? I tell myself that if I've lost weight before I should be able to put my mind to it after the baby arrives :)

I've lost weight but my stomach (the top bit not down at the bottom bump area) is sticking out loads giving me a right porky gut round my middle yet I know I haven't put weight on as I've barely eaten. I'm assuming it's all my bits and bobs getting pushed upwards as baby makes more room for itself it's the only explanation!?!
I've defo popped a bump too and am in maternity trousers but as it's my second I expected to show earlier, I didn't show until about 18 weeks last time as I have pudgy padding!!

Lovely to see all the pics and good scans recently, I've been trying to read all the posts when I can but unable to comment. Sickness had started to ease for about 2 days then bam it went into overdrive, feel like roadkill, have thrown up on my carpet twice as it comes on so sudden I can't make it to a suitable receptacle lol! Strangely though I'm not as down and miserable about it as I was, so hoping I'm adjusting to it as being normal life. I was like that with my first and it saved my sanity as I was sick until about 27 weeks and then again a few weeks at the end but adjusting to it as normality made it easier.

In better news just over 1 week and 4 days until my scan :) I'm so excited counting the days!!

Oh also I briefly felt some fizzy bubbles today when lying in bed which I kind of recognised from how it felt last time, so hoping I'm feeling movement early as that would be so lovely!!!

Bunnykins, sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish :hugs: I really can't imagine being sick for so long! You should get a medal!

Like you, my stomach is sticking out too - the top bit! haha! Glad I'm not the only one with a 'fake' bump ;)

I wish I knew what kind of signs to look for re. baby movement! Can't wait to feel the famous 'fizzy bubbles'!!

Bunnykins you poor thing! That's terrible that you didn't make it to the loo on time. It's bad enough getting sick without having to clean up a mess afterwards!

I thought on the weekend that maybe I felt something but there's been nothing since so it was probably my imagination. I can't wait to feel something!

Twelve weeks today, yay! :)

Me too! I felt it briefly last night - and I'm sure it wasn't wind ;) Felt just like the little flutters I remember from last time, only I didn't realise for a couple of weeks what it was back then. It's a funny old feeling - like a little goldfish wriggling!

Finally got around to uploading my latest scan pic (fingers crossed this works!). Any thoughts on the gender are welcome!

doh, that didn't work. I'll try again

Congrats! I've heard of the test but wasn't aware it can confirm the gender as well! x

I'm super dooper excited now. It's so real!!

The harmony test is a test for chromosomal abnormalities. They don't offer any kind of abnormality testing in Dublin (nuchal etc) so I decided to go for this one even though it's more expensive than getting nuchal done, it's much more accurate. It's a simple blood test that they do. Amazing that they can tell the sex of the baby from your blood!

Just re-read my report - it's actually Panorama that I got done. I think they're pretty much the same thing.
