Another one from me, sorry

Does anyone have any experience of oblique positioned babys? I thought it was a good thing that he was head down, but after a quick bit of research on the internet it looks like oblique is only marginally better than transverse and if he stays like this then I would still probably be offered an ECV as there is a much higher risk of cord prolapse.

Any advice or info anyone? (Other than stop worrying, which I can't help. I'm a worry wart ) xx

I'd just take it that he's heading in the right direction!

I usually find that I sleep on my right because it's comfier but I think I need to find a way of forcing myself to stay on my left, so gravity can help pull him over xx

This is a great website with techniques on how to naturally encourage baby into a good position for giving birth - you do the same things for oblique as transverse.

This may sound stupid but does obliquie mean the baby is lying into your hips? so head down but to one side - i hope that makes sense! lol. If so my baby is lying the same way!

Yeah pretty much. My LO has head down by my left hip but his back goes diagonally across so his bum is under my ribs on the right.

Lisa- How the hell do you do that safely? I have been puzzling over this for the last hour, because that's the one I need to do, but I think if I tried it on the stairs I'd end up knocking myself out  xx

Well, I think I just shouldn't have googled. I googled it yesterday and it can be dangerous if your waters break and baby is in this position as it can lead to cord prolapse. I found a few people who said their hospital policy for babies in this position is either admitted to hospital or put on complete bed rest from 34 weeks so your waters don't go.

Needless to say it scared the poop out of me  xx

:shakehead: When will you learn.....ask your MW not a search engine!

My midwife doesnt seem to care lol. Ive had a previous c-section and docs said my son was too high up to come out (i only reached 3cm too) so im thinking was he in the wrong position now?!

I'm sure the little man will find the exit when the time comes ;)

So exciting hun, not too long now :)

The good thing about todays scan is that although he's a wee bit wonky his head is in a good head down position :D xx
