Nursing Bra's

When is the best time to buy them? How do you know what size to get? Surely if I buy one now my boobs will grow when they fill with milk so it won't fit?? But milk doesn't come in till a few days after the birth and the last thing I am wanting to be doing then is to go shopping for bra's!! I'm confused!! xx

I got measured in M and S before Christmas and she said if I was breastfeeding to come back 2 weeks before baby was due. Not sure how others have done it? I won't be BFing but I'm gonna need a bigger size soon.

I got refitted at 30 weeks, was told to come back at 36/37 weeks or just to buy the size up from what I got, as have plenty of room in the ones im wearing now.

aw hun thats funny. i will get mine measured two weeks before because i want to breast feed to i might get a size one bigger as well because they fill up quicker with milk and go bigger? am not sure if that happens or not x

My nursing bra i wore before i had my son still fit once my milk came in after the birth, i dunno if this would b the case with everyone tho. My boobs didnt seem to get bigger with the milk they just went really full and hard. x

Haha, me too, not a good look!

I bought two nursing bras weeks ago but they're not so comfy and as I've expanded they're a bit small in the back too now so going to go get measured etc nearer d-day. Since you also have big boobs, can you let me know where you get sorted if they're good?

I got mine measured at 37 weeks. And they fit perfectly. And have done ever since getting them. I found t shirt nursing bras the best supporting from debenhams. Xx

My boobs never got bigger really as an above poster said they just get really full and hard but if you find your bras are tight i'd wait until your milk comes in an go with full boobies so yano its not going to be too tight

I too got measured in m&s at around 29 wks and bras I got were so comfy and supportive, though are getting snug now! She told me to go and get re-measured 2 weeks before I'm due also xx

I just got some sports bras. Ironic really as I can't even do stairs right now!!!

I just remembered last time my milk got backed up so they were huge and leaked a river so I allowed a lot of room for loads of breast pads too. I actually ended up cutting up sanitary towels and lining my bra with them as they were much more absorbent and stayed in place better. X

For me personally the books recommendations of 37 weeks was wayyyyy out!! I went up about 3 cups after the birth :S

Highly recommend bravissimo for the bigger ladies. I have the panache bras in a J cup they're very supportive.

Yes your boobs will go MASSIVE! Be prepared!
