Hi

I'm just wondering.... should I have colostrum coming out of my boobs at all? I don't even get any if I squeeze.

I really want to breastfeed and its making me anxious that I won't have anything to give to my baby when she is born.

:?

I know proper "milk" doesn't come in for 3 days but I thought I should at least have colostrum.

I've had different experiences with all my babies.

In my first pregnancy I leaked at 6 months, 2nd I had leaking if I squeezed from about 7 months but with my youngest I was thinking the same as you cos I seemed to have nothing there even when I was overdue. But Roxy fed half an hour after birth and never looked back.

So try not to worry if you seem to be empty, I'm sure it'll be alright when the time comes!

dont worry to much hun. with my 1st i didnt get anything come out until she was born xx

same....i had nothing until after LO was born. first it was colostrum, them milk after a few days x

I really wouldn't worry. I never had anything before James was born, and have now been breastfeeding successfully for over 7 months. The colustrum arrived with him and then the fun really began on day 3 when the milk came in and my boobs literally doubled in size

I'm sure you will be fine. Good luck :D!

I worried because when I was pg there were some girls on here posting saying that they had loads of leakage etc and I had some but not LOADS. Needless to say that when my milk came in, it came in and I have been exclusively BFing for 5 1/2 months now so dont worry at all!

You are all great!

Thanks for the reassurance. :D

I feel better now. It was just wierd thinking that I seem "dry" and wondering where all this colostrum is for when she is born.

I will stop squeezing my nips now...lol :rotfl:

Its perfectly normal to not have a drop of anything till baby arrives.

When in labour a hormone is released that causes your milk to kick in. Putting baby to breast and demand feeding thereafter will produce the colostrum and milk to follow.

FWIW I didn't have a drop till LO arrived. I never worried about it. Its not a sign that you won't produce milk and is actually more normal than leaking beforehand my MW said.

I didn't leak at all last time until after Austin was born (and he was a week overdue).
