Hi,

My LO doesn't seem to want her milk (formula) she cries to the point where I just give up. I was told by the health visitor not to leave it more than 4 hours. Is that right for her age? At night she seems to go 5 hours but I don't know whether I should leave it that long during the day.

I try to give her 4oz but she only takes half of that and has been doing this for 2 days, not sure what to do.

Any advice would be great.

She might be coming down with something?
Or maybe she is having the kinda opposite of a growth spurt, just not needing as much as usual..

I'm a great believer in demand feeding... healthy babies can't stave themselves, as the are instinctive creatures. If she appears well in herself, she is happy, producing 2 to 4 pooppy nappies, and 5 wet ones a day (I know these coincide with each other at times), and gaining the requisite amount of weight then maybe she just doesn't require the amount of formula suggested.

If this is a sudden thing and she seems listless or sick...then call you GP or NHS direct.

I wouldnt't worry too much. Olivia did this alot and it really panicked me... but after a few days things will probably get back to normal and I would put money on her having developed in some way after this phase. Olivia used to get tired and not hungry, then the next day she would start doing something she hadn't done before, like grabbing, or smiling!
