I'm really starting to wonder when exactly Layla's teeth are going to make an appearance?! She's 10 and a half months and not a tooth in site! She seems to have been teething on and off for months and everytime I think "this is it" it's seems to stop again  Clearly she is a late teether but i'm starting to worry about exactly how long this is going to go on? Most of her similar age friends have about 3/4 teeth. Will my daughter be a toothless wonder :?

Ella's just got her first tooth, it sprouted about 3 weeks ago and we've spotted her 2nd on Friday..Just before we discovered her first tooth I got an e-mail, I think from Gurgle, saying that most babies will have at least one tooth by their first birthday but not to worry if they don't. Just enjoy the gummy smiles while they last hehe

Paris was a late teether too :) but they soon came through once they started.

Are her gums really hard?

Emms has no teeth yet! I have been told that lots of babies dont get teeth until 1 yrs old!! It has meant that I have BF for longer than I would have if she had teeth!!!! :D

Alex got his first tooth at 11 months

he's 16 months now and his 8th and 9th teeth only came through four days ago.

Oliver was a late starter too. Got his 1st just before X-mas at 11months 1 week. Then his 2nd came through 2 weeks later (a few days ago). :cheer:

Nah, mines bald and gummy too!! Bless him :D

Teething off and on since about 3 months old, but nothing ever comes of it... we'll see. His dad was aparantly bald and gummy till he was 1, where as I had hair and teeth at 3 months. So guess he just takes after his daddy!!

Tom was a very late teether.
I spoke to my friend who is a dentist and he said not to worry. Teeth come through at different times and late teething is better as it means the adult teeth will come in later too which is a good thing.

Phew I was worried I'd have to get her some dentures :rotfl: Babylicious her gums aren't really hard but then she gets really upset if I stick my finger in her mouth so it's hard to really feel it. I think she'll be one of those babies who have no teeth until she's 2!

gosh i thought millie was a late teether. she cut her first at 8 months.

i had a dentist app as she was cutting her first tooth so i took her wth me to get her on the books- my dentist said to me "the longer they stay in the gums, the less time they are exposed to decay"!

Tom was 14 months when the bottom front 2 came through. The top 2 just came through last week, he's a slow teether too!

Don't worry though, the longer they take to come out the better the teeth will be apparently!!

no teeth here! I was about to post myself on how late is considered late?

ok phew, i was getting quite worried about it but it seems layla is not the only one!

I remember one of my brood not getting their first tooth til 13 months..And i have memory
of an old wives tale that says the longer they take to come through the stronger their
teeth are :o
