No idea where to post - uterine lining passing

Hi long time TTC and had a MC last year. No chance I could have been pregnant but now about 10-11 periods later I've passed a nice chunk of lining... I actually fished it out of the loo and it wasn't like a clot it was a nice grey lumpy bit like what I passed when I had a MC I have a docs appointment to discuss my on going fertility issues in a week or 2 but has anyone got any advice. I'm getting really bad cramps. Going to try a bath see if that will ease it off

When I had the MC I took it on and they confirmed that's what it was. Went off to the labs as they said it could have been the baby but they confirmed it was only lining and no pregnancy tissue. This was exactly the same stuff

Hi Pinkz, when you had your MC lovely did they scan you after to confirm all had passed? It is possible to retain tissue, they call it 'retained products of conception'...that does seem like a long time though. It may be worth asking them to scan you to check that you don't have any more although it sounds like it's the last of it and you may find you are in a better position to conceive again now. Wishing you luck though!

Had 2 scans during but never after. They just monitored hormones in blood. I'm at the docs next week or week after anyway so I'm gonna mention it

How far along were you? If they never scanned you after then it sounds exactly like RPC I would deffo mention it. xx

That long ago though? It was getting on to a year ago now! I will mention it when I go and see what they think. I thought I would have keeled over by now if it was retained. My first scan was 6 weeks when I started bleeding but they never confirmed pregnancy and hormones didn't start dropping till 7 or 8 weeks so somewhere around there. Not far along at all

I’d be surprised if it was retained products from a year ago. If it was, you’d probably have haemorrhaged or had a major infection in this time.

Not that I have any suggestion as to what it could be mind you

You're probably right...I was just trying to think of things it could have been as the cramping suggested your body was trying to get rid of something. But you're right that long maybe clutching at straws a little - I hope you get some answers soon! x

It isn't common but I have heard of retained tissue coming out over a year after a MC. One lady said she had had odd spotting on and off since her MC which stopped after she lost the tissue. O this é she had no issues.

Thanks for the replies. Other than that my period has been pretty normal so I will mention it when I see the doctor and see what they say. I found something online that said it can just happen for women from time to time but it seems a bit odd. Just hope they do something to be honest. Sick of having periods if I can't get pregnant. I would rather just not have them at all lol
