I had a really awful dream/nightmare last night, it woke me up and then it took me ages to go back to sleep. I mentioned this to my OH, and he was like "Aren't you too old for nightmares?" I didn't realise there was an age limit on bad dreams?! Anyone else have them?

i get them alot but mine are a bit more like flash backs of a specific event hope you get better sleep tonight xxx

I've never heard the idea that you grow out of them before. I have regular nightmares and always have.

I have regular nightmares, my sister has vivd ones quite frequently. I had one 2 days ago about my wedding. I was so relieved to wake up and know that I had already got married and it didn't go like the nightmare!

I don't even remember having so many nightmares when I was a kid...
I suppose more worries now...

i have lots, last night actually i dreamt i was trapped in a hotel and loads of dead children were crawling down the hallway to get me and i turned to my OH and he told me they were my kids :faint:

woke up bawling my eyes out, doesnt help that i lucidly dream so i am fully aware i am dreaming however i cant wake up!

i have worse ones than that too, were i am sure i feel pain etc

you dont grow out of them x

I have them all the time these days, but I don't remember having them much as a kid. Sometimes they're just weird, and other times they're terrifying and horrific. I've woken up shaking and crying more times than I care to remember :( I try not to wake my OH but sometimes I have to because I just can't stop thinking about it.

I go through phases , have them most nights for 10-15 ish days then nothing for a month or so. Usually vivid

I think it used to worry my OH more, but it happens so often these days that he's become quite good at putting his arm round me and giving me a cuddle without actually properly waking up - he very rarely remembers it in the morning!
