Nightfeeds Chat Thread

What's wrong with your boob spin? My poor little mite woke again and 6:30 and couldn't breath out of it nose at all so took a long time to settle him again xx

Hope you're ok spin? You've not got mastitis or anything have you?
All these 6 hour stretches... jealous! Put E down at 6:30, she woke at 10 crying. Managed to feed her, then she slept til2 and then 6 and then slept in our bed til 8:30! We're used to 6:30/7 wake-up call, so that was a nice weekend treat!
Hope everyone's having a good weekend. I've just got back from swimming training and am cream crackered now!

Is it nipple pain spin? I'm lucky that Hannah's latch eventually improved so it's not painful. X

It's not nipple pain. It's odd pain...like a deep throbbing in my breast. It's like the underside is bruised. I've fed today in an upright position & taken lots of paracetamol and it's eased a bit. I think it's repeated poor latches. But even having the duvet rest on it last night was agony :-(

Ouch sounds like a blocked duct, as you say probably from the latching.. If it persists make sure you get antibiotics as I left mine and it kept coming back until it turned into mastitis! Lots of different positions is good though. Urggh hate boobie pain! I'm off to sleep ladies, good luck one and all! Xx

well hubby is doing expressed bottle now, she hasnt had one for 2 nights so need to use the milk id expressed lol. last night she did 11.30 to 3 then 3.30 to 7am, shame DD1 has caught chickenpox and was up every 30 mins til 12 then awake and crying twice in the night too.
so far tonights been better DD1 has been soundly asleep since 8pm bedtime and tho we have the 8 week growth spurt going on DD2 is still a happy bubba for the short time between feeds, shes also slept loads recently when shes been full so thats been nice

Ugh. LOs sleep is getting worse day by day. She's waking up earlier and earlier for each feed. For weeks we were only doing one feed a night. Most of the last week we've been doing two. Surely she should be getting better as she gets older, not worse :-( nothings changed so I just don't get it. Xx

Chicken pox...eek! Do you want Poppy to catch it too or is she far too young for that, Bev?
Tried to put E to sleep at 6:30 but she was having none of it and cried and cried. Eventually got her down at 8, woke at midnight and is now up again at 3 feeding again.
Hope everyone else is getting some nice long stretches

How old is your LO Spin? When Ella was E months she went up to 7 hours at a stretch. Then 4 months hit and she kept getting worse and worse and was waking up crying sometimes every hour! She's been like this for over a month now :-(
Would love my old sleepy baby back!

Just doing first feed here. Seren went down about 7.30 but I disturbed her when I came upstairs to check on here at 8.30 so she had a very quick 2 min feed to help her settle back then. Then she went until 2 so another decent stretch, yay! Just winding her now and hoping she goes back until at least 5 then. Last night she managed until 6 after being up at the same time as tonight which was great for her so fingers crossed for similar.

Oh no spin. These babies do like to keep us on our toes. Just when you think you've got a pattern figured out they change. I hope it doesn't last too much longer for you.

Hope dd1 is feeling better soon bev and hope E gives you a decent stretch for the rest of the night Sophie.

Xxx

How's the boobie spin? As other girls said, lots of different positions and try and express from it - whilst in a warm bath/boobs in a sink of warm water.

Beesmall - he's having about a 2-3oz bottle after having fed on both sides, didn't do it last night though and we still got 5 hours!!

Went down at 9.45 and up at 3! Problem is, I keep leaking and waking up wet, so expressed a few oz off the side he didn't feed, it's like the little turd hears his milk going elsewhere so became WIDE awake! And I've had to feed him that side too. Hope he goes back to sleep soon.

If he does something 2 nights running (5+ hours) - does that mean its routine now and he'll always do it??? (Please say yes! I'm fed up of a max 3 hours!!)

Hi ladies, well it looks like our sleep might be improving again! Yay! He slept 9-4:15! Just for background, he was sleeping like this for a few weeks nearly 2 months ago, then it just stopped! He was back waking every 1-2 hours again! It has slowly increases again and now we're back here so I'm hoping it stays! So anyone going backwards have hope! Xxx

We got 6 and a quarter hours. Yay. Ours starts at midnight though x

How come you put lo to bed so late? You must be shattered Hun! Xxxx

That's just when she goes to sleep and always has been. She used to intensely cluster feed all evening and it has calmed down but she still feeds a lot and is mostly awake. Hopefully she'll start to go to sleep earlier eventually! It's not that bad as I'm used to it. Just a sex life ruiner!

This is what I'm wondering too! For the last 4 nights Seren has slept really well and I'm really hoping its going to continue or even improve. But from reading on here it seems things can just as easily go backwards so I'm not counting my chickens just yet! Xxx

Still jealous of all your long stretches but we'll get there I'm sure. Henry did 4 hours, quick free/nappy change then another 3 hours. My poor boob was rock solid when I woke up just now... It's not used to going so long without him feeding!!

She's only 13 weeks so I'm not far from the 4 month sleep regression...dreading it as it's awful sleep now!
Hope it gets better for you soon Sophie.

I couldn't sleep after feed 1...I was awake till 4 them LO woke at 5.30. Hubby offered to do a bottle and I jumped at the chance, although I still didn't sleep!. She's still dozing now but I'm shattered.
My boob feels like it's going to explode I need to feed from it soon, but it's no where as tender. I've been careful to rotate feeding positions all day! Xx

If you've always had a bad sleeper maybe this 4 month milestone will be the turning point for you but in a positive wau and you'll get a baby that sleeps through?! Think positive ;-)
Hate that when you can't get back to sleep after feeding at night. It's so frustrating.
