Nightfeeds Chat Thread

PMA pippa, you never know!
It's do windy here, the outside stairs are banging against the wall plus there are still loads of fireworks going off...keeps waking LO up!
Just gave her a 3oz dream feed...even if it doesn't help keep her asleep longer, it's more milk in to her to help with weight gain :-)

Good luck tonight everyone! X

Wow you're right! Managed 8-5.45! I'm in shock! Aww I hope your night gets more peaceful xxxx

Happy birthday Lauren! That was a great present :-)

Tigger did you get more sleep? Hope so.
Pippa that is fab!

Hannah went back down for a couple of hours then got super noisy. Had a 5 min feed and is fast asleep in our bed now but I'm wide awale. I might dye my hair today. .. it's been over a year as I got allergic during pregnancy to the dye!

Oh wow I hope your scalp isn't so sensitive anymore umbongo! I stopped dying mine till a week before due date and half my hair was blond and half brown, was terrible! (Had a reaction to dye early on too!) thankfully all fine now tho :)! Xxx

No I didn't get anymore sleep! Little hooligan demands we be awake and play with him!! I made hubby get up too though - he doesn't deserve a lie in when we both went to bed at 9pm and I've been up for hours overnight whilst he's been up for 10 mins!! (Oh so mean...)

Out of interest - is the co sleeping because they won't fall asleep on their own in their basket? I think I'm quite lucky with jake because if he's gonna sleep, he'll sleep anywhere (so no need for co sleeping) but bringing him into my bed doesn't work if he's not settling in his crib. We only sleep together when I've fallen asleep feeding him!

Tigger, we always cosleep for the last sleep of the night (usually about 6-8am) because he won't settle in his basket because he's not in a deep enough sleep. If I cuddle him in he'll fall asleep and stay asleep on my chest whereas if I put him in his basket he'd wake up immediately. After saying I wouldn't cosleep I actually love it. Gets me another couple of hours doze and I love the snuggles, I know it won't be long and he will be so big and not want mummy cuddles on a morning anymore so I'm enjoying them while they last x

Hi ladies, we've really suffered last couple of nights as Max has a stuffy nose again! It's horrible and nothing seems to work! It's been over a month now, just some nights it's worse than others! Grrrr!
Hope you're all getting some lovely zzzz's....! Xxx

Up for second feed here. She's slept 8.00-12.30 and 1.00-3.30 so not as good as last nights long stretch but not too bad.

Tigger we usually cosleep for the last part of the night from around 4/5 onwards. It's mainly due to me being lazy! By then I'm too tired to want to sit up and feed and then settle Seren back in her basket. Also as the night goes on she sleeps less and less deeply and wakes more often so it hardly seems worth putting her back in her bed at that point as she'd probably wake very soon after anyway. If she's in with me though she'll sleep better and probably go until DS gets up around 7, and even if she does wake at least all I have to do is latch her on and go back to sleep! I really enjoy our little bit of snuggly time in bed together :-) but I'm lucky she will settle well on her basket for the rest of the night (most of the time!) so I kind of get the best of both worlds xxx

I've had a horrendous night. He went down at 9.30, woke 11.45... Wouldn't go down until 2!!!! And now he's woken again at 4.45. He was being a proper little rat bag. Refusing the boob but grinning at me, Everytime he was put down he'd cry. Tried co sleeping but he was having none of that either.

Oh dear Tigger, that does does sound bad.
Our night was rubbish again here. Took forever to get her to sleep, then she woke crying at 11:30, 3, 5 and 7. She's just slept in bed with me all night as OH wanted a good night's sleep before work so slept in the spare room.

Advice please ladies! Phoenix fell asleep at half ten and is still asleep now! Is that ok?? She's 8 weeks and weighed 12lb7 last week. I keep waking to check on her!

Hey ladies!

I've been awol for a few days but not due to H sleeping through lol. He's got himself into a nice little routine now (touch wood) of 7pm-3am 4am-7am, and I'm finding it soo much easier! Thinking about how awful his sleep was when he was a newbie, he was waking every 45 minutes some nights!, I can tell you all it does eventually get better! Even though I know it seems like it never will haha.

He's only ever slept through the night once, but I actually don't mind giving him milk in the night (despite all my complaints) as he's still quite little for his age, so I guess he needs it.

Anyway he's 4 months on Tuesday so I'm expecting 4 month sleep regression to start any day now booo :(

I wouldn't worry my 8 week old normally sleeps 7:30 until 4. Then back down until 7. Some times he does 7:30 until 6:30! He is 12lb 10. Just enjoy the sleep!! Haha xx

Its worrying when they first do that! But its fine. At 8 weeks my LO was about 12lb and sleeping 9.15-5 and one night he did until 6 newring 9 weeks. Enjoy it! If she was hungry im sure she would have woke to tell u! Xx

Hi ladies. Had an odd few nights. Decided to stop swaddling j's arms in with him. So on thursday was expecting a bad night but he slept 9.30-7.30 but, woke at 1 on friday night and 2.30 and 6.15 on saturday night/sun morn..

So last night I put his arms back in his swaddle and he slept 9.10pm-7am again...

Surely I cant swaddle him forever? Xx

Henry seems to be falling into more of a pattern/routine. Last week or so he's slept 11-3 then 3:30-6:30 then had another couple of hours in bed on my chest. I'm finding it so much easier now he's sleeping decent stretches, waking up every hour and a half was a killer! Just hoping it continues...

How long did she sleep for flot? Sounds good to me, if she is struggling to gain weight then wake to feed, otherwise be very smug :-)

Scared again about tonight! Changed Florence's routine tonight, usually bath at 9 then bottle then bed, but decided really it was too late as me and OH go to bed at 9/10 ourselves (oh up for work at 5 so I get up with him ), so decided to bath at 7 then feed, she's just gone down now, fell asleep on her bottle at 7.45, I'm a bit anxious at how early she might wake for another feed, but we shall have to see! Eeeek! Hope we all have a good night! Xxx
