Nightfeeds Chat Thread

Poor little H, SaraLouise. Hope your night has been better.
We've had yet another awful night's sleep. Hate how hourly wake up calls and her sleeping in my bed have suddenly become the norm. Am worried she'll be like this forever now as she is used to being fed back to sleep. Am really at a loss of what to do though.

Oh no Sara! Is he normally sicky like that? I'm hoping your night dramatically improved after that!
Sophie try not to think like that - maybe one day she will decide she loves her cot?! Hopefully!

Well the dreamfeed seemed to have worked. She went down at 8, I gave her another 3oz at 10 and she slept solidly till 3 :-D here's to a good rest of the night!

Haha i had a similar Facebook status to puddles message above which was caused by Max so am wondering if same happened here?

No word from Sara so hoping he settled ok? Oh Sophie don't worry she's still tiny and had plenty of time to learn. I don't think I ever did anything but feed my first back to sleep, stopped doing that when he was 6 months old and on solids, and it only took 2 nights of crying and calming for him to adjust so just go with it xxx

Well 5th night running 8.45 pm sleep until 12.30 am
Then 3am feed and just done the 5 am one which always sets him off screaming

I gave gaviscon for his reflux at the 3am feed but it's made no difference so far he's writhing around screaming :( I don't know what to do about this he's fine day but when asleep he's always writhing about looking in pain arching his back gettin all red

Ooh poor H with the vomit, Eeek. And SophieJane try not to worry, just a phase I'm sure.
Bev you seem to have a good routine.
So glad dream feeding is working spin, you deserve some luck!
Paddles ......?? Hahaha

Good night Claire?

Hannah slept 12-5 in basket despite a fussy evening again so I'm really pleased as I thought she'd need to be in bed again. Hooooray! Don't mind it but I sleep better without her there.

Awww pregnot that's so difficult! Do you go to bed early? I'd be very tempted to sleep same time as him while he's having these issues, it'll make you feel a bit more human. Not sure about reflux, can they try another medicine? I assume you do all the tricks like sloping cot/ basket and keeping upright for 30 mins after feeding etc. Poor you and him :-/

Yea every night I go bed 8.30 and sleep as soon as he's asleep so I'm getting some sleep inbetween

It's just a Shame as all day he's perfect all night up until 5 am n he's all upset and in pain then :(

I'm going to ask health visitor next visit

We do all the tipping Moses , upright etc... Just for some reason the 5 am feed makes him scream
I don't know

Just to write something relevant to the thread. We had a crap night :-(

I am moody this morning.

Awww sorry you had a crap night paddles. Hannah went back down after only 30 mins and slept till 8am. Not bad at all.

Oh god it was terrible!!

He was just so unsettled all night. He went to bed at 9 30, was up at 12 30, 2 30, 4, 6 & up at 8.

I'm absolutely exhausted!

I have no idea what made him sick in the first place, but he's nor been sick since & no icky nappies so I don't think he's unwell.

Sorry for your bad night Sara.

Lol paddles.. there have been times where ive started writing something and been tired so cleared it and closed down the app. Lol. Luckily haven't posted anything like that yet. Sorry also for ur crap night.

Our night wasnt so great.

The night before J slept 9.15-6 then 6.30-8.30 and I thought it was great. But it was a one off.

Last night he did 9.15-4.30. 4.45-6.30 (but I got him back to sleep) then 6.45-7.45.

Ive become so used to him feeding between 4&5 that it just really annoyed me that he woke at 6.30 and got up at 7.45 rather than 8.30..

Tut how bad of me!

Sent from my GT-I9300

It's funny Kelly how your version of a bad night would be a good night for us. ;-) xxx

I know, its terrible isn't it. I should be happy really. I think i get so used to something, that it just seems bad for me, but i know others can have worse :( xx

It so true. Once you get used to sleep again you find it harder to get up in night. We are never satisfied! ;-)

crap night here too but were in a leap and she was snacking/comfort eating not actually feeding. i knew it was a mistake for her afternoon nap to be thru teatime as she usually naps at 6 ish and that takes us to evening time nicely but it all got screwed yesterday and she slept til 6 instead then fed on and off and was awake most of the evening, leading to earlier bedtime for her and less feeding in the later hours so earlier waking during the night.

og and pregnot my lo was the same the last few weeks with silent reflux, if you can elevate the cot or mattress it helps and ive been lying her on her side at night as that seems to make her comfier too, just lay at a bit of an angle so if they move they automatically roll onto their backs again

Thanks for the advice Claire. It's always so hard to know what's the right thing to do and not be taking the easy option that's going to work out worse in the Kong run.
Got E to bed fine tonight but she woke up an hour and a half later screaming with big fat tears rolling down her face. Have given her some calpol and am feeding her again to try and get her back ti sleep. Think it's going to be another long night for me. Hope you ladies have better luck
