Nightfeeds Chat Thread

Our night was average. 5.5, 1.5, 2, 2.5 hours were the gaps I got between feeds. Hope she'll just wake up feeling fine, otherwise we might have to miss baby swimming.
Glad the milk up the nose truck worked, Umbongo. You should have tried it earlier ;-)!

Well, harrison slepted slept from 9-12, went back down at 1, then was up at 2, 4, 6 & just got up now. I certainly remember why we give him a formula feed at night now. The sleep he did have was so unsettled & grunty I feel like I've been up all night :(

I had a great night. Max slept from 8 until 2:30 half a bottle back to sleep until 7!! Amazing for my little 4 week old. I put some extra blankets over him so now I'm wondering if he hAd a bit been cold the other nights! Poor little monkey. It's hard to know cos they make u obsessed with not over heating them. Poor bairn! I'm glad every one is doin well. Xx

Hi all, I don't post on here butvtjoughtvi would share your pain this morning. Arthur slept 8-10 my oh gave him expressed bottle and he went back til 12, then hourly feeds!!?? Night before he did lovely 3 hour gaps (best we've ever had) then all sniffly and unsettled between those hourly feeds! Sleeping nicely now though!!! But I've Ben up since half 6 with ds1.

Good luck for getting through the day ladies! :(

Well ours was a bit of a strange night. OH was working lates so it was my first evening on my own with two! Turns out its not that easy getting two kiddies ready for and into bed! Especially since DS decided to have a bit of a meltdown all evening! Anyway Seren ended up dozing off on the bed next to me so I left her there so I could get DS sorted but then she looked so cute I didn't have the heart to move her until I went to sleep at 10.30. Then she woke up when I moved her so she had a feed which she doesn't normally have then. Hoped that might mean she'd have a longish stretch after but she was up at 1ish then again just before four. Coslept after that because she kept being sick xxx

I feel your pain ladies.

3 hour stretch from 10 and then up hourly from there. He's such a fidget and making loud noises from 4 onwards I find it hard to sleep.

Getting 2 kids to bed is crazy and when you had a bad night with baby you just want to stay in bed but you can't as got to get up for your eldest.
Having downer day today

Also I think he was a bit cold last night too but I get paranoid about overheating too.

Sounds like not the greatest nights except Amy. Our night was fair to middling. 12.30-4.30 except she actually woke just after 3.30am and I tried soothing her back to sleep by holding her hand but it failed. Half an hour feed which was unusually short! Woop! Then up for feeding at 7.15am as Hubbys alarm woke us all!

Long day ahead as hubby getting his girls after work so has car and won't be back til 6.30pm at least depending on M1!

We've got a friend coming over at 10, otherwise I would definitely be going back to bed after breakfast!

I must try the breastmilk trick- bought baby olbas oil yesterday- it says from 3 months but I figured so does snuggle babe and if one of my others had a cold they would use it and I wouldn't remove Toby from the room. Well I don't know if it was that or the extra blankets but he slept so well, 1030-130, 2-330 4-530, 530-730, all on his crib. This may se a nightmare for others but he had been horrendous at night! Still exclusively bf, I expressed some yesterday and tried a bottle but he really didn't like it and it made me sad cos he was getting upset wont be doing it again in a hurry /(

Hannah has been cluster feeding all day so who knows what the night holds.
What is doing my head in is my youngest step daughter, when she stays lately she can never sleep. She's 8! I thought we were past this with her!!! Obviously acting out due to jealousy over Hannah. She's used to being the baby!

Good luck for tonight ladies. Im so tired! J went down at 9.15 though. Prob be here at 1.30 as its his new fave time to wake up! :-(

How annoying Umbongo :-(

Hope he goes longer tonight Kelly.

I'm a bit worried about the wind tonight. The flat gets very noisy. Something bangs, in two years we cannot figure out what. We think it's something in the chimney! Anyway, with the whistling wind added in I'm worried it will wake her a lot

Hope he surprises you Kelly.

And I hope Mollie has a good one spin.

Still feeding here! Had a lovely day really as mostly just Hannah and I. I watched ER all day. Slightly stressful evening with feeding taking its toll. Fx for good nights all round!! Hubby and girls will look after Hannah tomorrow morning so I should get a lie in unless she needs lots of feeds!

I'm tired. I went to bed too late. I feel like a naughty school child who didn't go to bed on time then couldn't get up for school. Yawwwnn!

Come on Harrison, make this a quick one!

Hi! We've had the usual bad night. Hate how it's now become the norm. E took ages to get to sleep. OH eventually bounced her to sleep at 9:30. Every timeshe's woken up during the night though she's been crying and I've had to feed her. I thought a baby's digestive system was meant to be more mature after 3 months? E's getting in towards 5 now.

How is the wind Zoe? Its banging around our outside light but I dont think that is loud enough to wake J.. just me!

Bex, Enjoy your lie in. Feeding and relaxing isnt always bad eh. Ive got series after series to keep me going while feeding and cuddling xx :)

Sara I know that feeling all too well! J was up at 1.30 but I didn't go bed until 11.30! Oops!

10-2.30 isn't too bad :) I went up to 5oz for a while. But now gone back to a couple of 4oz.

Sophie, I have no idea about a baby's digestive system. Sorry your having bad nights :(

J slept the same as last night so far
9.20-1.30
2-4.10
So hopefully about 5-8.15 too again.

When u ladies feed, do u leave baby swaddled? And also, how dovu determine they want food at night and not just need resettling? Or do they only wake for food? Xx

OH took Jack tonight so I could sleep and he's having trouble settling him so resorted to taking him out in the car! He's normally pretty good for me, do you think it could be because it's not me feeding/settling him? X

It could be Katie, they get used to one person if you always do it. Did the car work ok? My parents did that with my bro, where as I needed waking fot feeds, and even needed waking Christmas morning apparently! Ha.

Sorry some nights aren't so good. We're doing our first feed at 5am. She went to sleep at 12.15sm in the end. Boy my nipples hurt after yesterday!!!

I keep swaddled for feeds, although she's usually partially broken out or needs changing so end up redoing it anyway!!
