Nightfeeds Chat Thread

And again- he doesn't seem to be going any longer between feeds - he's 5 1/2 weeks now!
I have to be up every morning st 0645 to get my big girls up for the school bus and my younger one up for school, feel like I only get half a nights sleep!

I'm so fed up of this trying to settle crap. The night feeds don't bother me. But the hour or two of crying grunting moaning is really wearing thin. Wish I could just put her straight back down to sleep :-( I'm so sick of just 3h sleep a night.

Xx

Were on feed 2 now, with no sleep between. She's had her bum changed twice, weed on herself so needed re dressing & now she's just been sick all over me. Nice. She's showing no signs of wanting to sleep!

I've not been to sleep yet... every time I put her down she wakes up. . Then she was screaming with trapped wind... just fed her again and winded her and passed to DH to wind her too she's fallen asleep in his arms lets see if she stays asleep. .
Got so much to do tomorrow bloody typical on the night she chooses not to sleep. .. xx

Aww spin you're not having a good time of it hun xx hugs xx

Big hugs everyone.

Ammdaz do you put a muslin over the sheet under her head (tucked in) so it's easier just ti change that not all the sheet?

Hannah did 12-5. Impressed as, was so unsettled all evening. Think she's dropping back off too....fx......xx

Well I ended up getting up for the 1am battle as OH couldn't get any milk down him. Took 4oz of bm in the end. Just got up for the 2nd feed, but he's so bunged up hes just panicking when feeding. I've tried saline drops & snufflebabe but its not making a difference. Anybody got any ideas?

We just started using the saline spray, slightly better than drops. Safe from birth. She hates it but soon gets over it, esp when it means she can then feed. She gets so upset otherwise.

Well she slept again easier than usual. Much shorter feed at 5am. Did 12-5 and 5.30-8. Hard to complain about that!!!! I was a bad mummy as put her down at 5.30am and heard her fill her nappy, but she fell asleep so I left her. It would have totally woken her up to change her then! Didn't bother her and bum is fine.

Got to try proper latch today.. yikes..x

Bex I have left Max loads of times when he's just fallen asleep.. Sometimes it's necessary!

Good luck with the latch! The best advice given to me was to literally grab my nipple around the areola and squash it a bit before basically shoving it in their mouths, as soon as it's in they do the rest xxxx

Yes I do but 9 times out of 10 it goes through to the sheet! So last night I put two muslins under and that did the trick so we did ok until we had a major vomiting incident around 4.30! We coslept after that because I was being lazy! Xxx

We're lucky that Hannah rarely sicks up....yer!

Latching gone well this afternoon, not easy but not used shields since this morning. X

It sucks that Harrison doesnt sleep through the night, but I must admit I do love the fact he sleeps from 8pm. Gives me some time to myself in the evenings!

J was so tired that we put him to bed already. Is he too young for a dream feed? Will I wake him up? I was thinking about 10.30 or 11. He is 7 weeks old x
