Nightfeeds Chat Thread

Well Henry is back in my good books. After hours and hours of cluster feeding, he slept 1-5 then 6-8 so I got 6 hours of decent sleep after all. I really was at my wits end by 1am! He has loads of family and friends to meet today so hope he behaves himself x

:( morning, just had two hours while oh had both Los as Arthur's fed every hour at least from 12 and refused to go in Moses was very windy/pukey so I had no sleep. None at all :( oh dear I'm gonna be grumpy today and probably full of tears!

The night feeds do get better girls, Arthur is now 10month old and the last week hes startedto sleep through from 8-8 waking once, hes breast feeding so do expect it, also download wonder weeks, it explains it xx

Thanks Wilson28. That's encouraging! Love the name Arthur too. Was on my boy shortlist.

Hannah was so noisy in her basket with her cold. I finally got back to sleep at 7 ish then fed on and off in bed and snoozed, til hubby came back with step daughters at 10am.

Hi ladies. I don't even remember how my night was, it was in such a daze! I know I git Yo twice & she went straight back to sleep though. She woke up at 7 crying so we just got up. Git her dressed & am now feeding her next to OH snoring in bed!

Umbongo: my OH used to do that in the early days when. she was awake every 2-3 hours. I'd sleep in the evening at 8 & he'd come & get me for the next feed. It was such an amazing feeling to have those few hours sleep!

Also, for a blocked nose, try putting a few drops of breastmilk up each nostril. The easiest way to do it is to use a pippet when she's being held in your arms so you can angle her nose the right way. Also, bring her into the bathroom when you have a bath or shower with the door closed so it gets steamy.

Thanks, the hv said about breastmilk, I'll have to get a pipette. I have one somewhere but goodness knows where!! I take her in the bathroom every morning. Thanks. Xx

my oh was the same with alyssa, id feed her til 11 then id go sleep and he would bring her up when she was really hungry again which was generally 2-3am so id get some sleep.

poppy seems happy to feed 11/12 then 2am then 5/6am. i started off waking her every 3 hours which meant that after it taking an hour or so to try her on oob, give her the top up, pump out any milk left in boobs and get her settled i was getting maybe an hour out of every 3 of sleep, added up to about 4 hours a night lol, now im letting her wake herself after her 2am feed and shes seemed to settle at waking at 6am so im getting a couple of hours finally.
now i usually sneak an extra couple of hours in at 7am too by going to bed as oh is getting up with alyssa, making the most of his leave as hes got a week left from monday and then i will have to be up between 7-8 every day with alyssa as well as poppy lol
im gonna die i know it

Have you tried the bm up the nose yet bex? Harrison has a terribly stuffy nose & was wondering if I should try it?

Harrison has fallen back into his routine now.

8.30-1.30
2.30-6.00
6.30-7.30

Don't mind it too much actually!

E hasn't actually had a cold yet, so I haven't actually tried the breastmilk trick with her. I used some when I had a cold & it. worked a treat lol!

Have given E a bath, a little massage & am currently feeding her, then it's bed. Hope she goes off ok. OH is downstairs cooking pumpkin & salmon risotto & I'm starving!

Tonight went wrong. I was waiting for OH to get home to do a feed as he does them when he can. He was due at 6.30. J wanted bottle at 7.30. OH still wasn't home so I held it off a little by playing with J. But then scott still wasnt home by 8.15, so I made bottle and he had it at 8.30 which is much later than usual. Then, dinner was at 10.45pm! And then J was hungry. So instead of going down at 9.30-10.30. He went down at 11.45!

Im now dreading the night :-( :-(

Hope you get some sleep Kelly. Henry has been an angel all day. Had loads of visitors for him to meet and he slept through as he was passed around...tonight is another story! He woke up at 7:30 for a feed and hasn't been to sleep since. Has fed since then on and off and is still going. Really hope he settles soon :-(

Harrison went to bed an hour late & woke up an hour early, what's that about?!

I hope your nights do end up ok ladies!
Naughty Harrison, doesn't he remember his routine yet :-P whenever you mention him I'm always reminded how fast babies recover. If we went through what he did we would def still be recovering!
Kelly sorry to hear your oh was so late in tonight. Hope it doesn't mess JJs routine too much

Hey ladies. Step daughters here all day so Hannah had loads of attention and was picked up the whole time. Didn't sleep much and then I planned to nap when hubby drove them home but she fed on and off from 4pm till 10pm! I had a splitting headache which got worse and worse. Tiredness probably.

Kindly hubby took her 10pm.till 2.30am! I went to sleep. I know she cried for a bit first so I feel bad but then I feel quite ill with this headache and now a sore throat so I think the sleep was needed. I dont feel any better but assuming I get some more it's bound to help a lot! Hate feeling so awful when you know you have to just carry on however you feel! :-/ Being ill as a mummy is going to really suck!!

good luck to everyone for tonight. X

P.S. not tried breast milk up the nose yet, not sure how to get it in there yet!

I just paid attn to the time. Mollie slept from 8.30-3. That's bloody brilliant! Now if only she would go back to sleep now...

Maybe the formula top up at night IS helping? She had 3x boob and 3oz formula between 6.30-8.30

Xx

Morning ladies! Glad to hear there is some lovely sleeps happening ;-)

So I went out last night to catch up with my girlies, it was really nice to get all dressed up and be out - even though we went somewhere far too cool and everyone was 20 and trendy! Got home about 1am after a bit of a mission, and had 2 wines so baby waking about half an hour ago worked out perfectly! I'm dreading the morning though, my big boy is at a sleepover and I've got to pick him up at 10 so I know I'm going to be super tired....this will probably take me days to recover but was really worth it ;-) xxx
