Is this only in Scotland or do they do it in England too? http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications ... 26102829/1

This might be useful for people because I knew *nothing* about it! Basically it means you can go to your pharmacist if your child has a minor ailment and the pharmacist can "prescribe" over-the-counter medication like Calpol free of charge. I only found out about it today because we ran out of Gaviscon for Becky and don't have an appointment for a repeat prescription till Friday - so the pharmacist told me about this scheme and we got enough to last us till Friday for nothing!

It also applies to everyone who for whatever reason doesn't pay prescription charges so useful for new mums who are on maternity exemption and need something for a cough, for example.

Sorry if people did know something about it and it was just me in the dark

Yep they have it here. I only found out as i couldn't get a appointment at docs for Coop's thrush so they told me over the phone and off we went to the chemist :D
