Newly obese and need help!

Beth thats awful! I dont get weighed at all with the midwife andf im glad - id feel so much worse if i had someone judging my weight gain! x

Aww don't be sad ladies. I was really worried about weight gain at the start of the pregnancy but now I just take the view that whatever goes on will have to come off later even if I have to work for it. I weighed myself this morning (at exactly 35 weeks) and I've put on 2 stone 9. Originally I didn't want to put on more than 2 stone but I've accepted more recently that a realistic goal is 3 stone in total and I'm on track for that. We can all just work together to lose it afterwards! x

Well she changed her mind today anad said Ive put on a good amount of weight and it was mostly baby so i forgave her lol. Im also not overly worried how much I put on as I know I will lose it again no mater how long I have to try. Thankfully here in the summer its a minimum of high 30s every day so its easy to lose weight whether you want to or not.

Oh and I got weighed im exactly 11 stone to put on 2 stone :D Not as bad as ı thought it would be :D

I had this problem on Sunday morning and I felt fat and all the dresses I tried on in my wardrobe were too short because of the bump or they wouldn't zip up as my boobs have got bigger. I do like my dresses as they are comfy and girly. I managed to find 2 new dresses from Matalan that fit perfect. They are just normal dresses but they have loads of room to go over my bump. xx

Hi, i found the best things for being sooo short at 4.11" was to wear leggings with large tops from primark as bump has taken over. I just get tops that are like 3-4 sizes bigger. I've been lucky and only put on a stone and a half and only have four weeeks left to go. I really hope it will be easier to lose weight in the summer. Ellie.

Yeah im hoping it will easier to stick to salads etc in summer! Plus getting out and about with baby for walks is bound to help x

Ive been buying normal empire line dresses & normal jumper dresses that are knee length then wearing them as tops over jeans or leggings plenty of room for bump plus they are never too short & much nicer than the gross maternity offerings ive seen in most shops...new look have some nice stuff on their website & I virtually live in my over bump jeans i got from there :) i find under bump too uncomfy as they rub :( x

I know how you feel Hun. I feel massive now, but bought a few things from H&M last week to see me through till DD. spent about £40 which is not much but depressing when they won't be worn again, but had grown out of everything else:-( I have found H&M are the best place for cheap maternity clothes. I am wearing either leggins with layered tops or long tunics, or combat pants from H&M which are really comfy with nice t shirts from same place. Wearing ballet pumps or converse. At home wearing joggers and boyfriend's t shirts! Don't worry Hun, it's not for much longer! x

Oh my dear god I weighed myself tonight! First time since I was 8 weeks. I'm not sure exactly what I weighed then think it was 12 st 4  :( I am now 14 bloody stone :( :( so I've gained under 2 stone and the biggest I've ever been is 15 stone when I was ill. Serious weight loss after baby comes :(

Belly bands are brilliant....they cover your tummy if a top is too short and they cover trousers at the top if you need to leave them undone x

I havent worn any bump bands - its mainly trousers that are the problem for me because my bump is so low! I think ive put on so much weight that my old size 8-10 tops wouldnt fit regardless though.

Pinky thats not too bad - ive put on almost 3 stone now :-( We can lose it together! x

Cherelle I'll need to go to fat club

I'm quite intrigued to see how much we all lose straight away through the birth process. Think I might keep weighing myself a bit more often now so that I know exactly what I do weigh when I go into labour. Oddly I'm actually quite excited about the challenge of losing the weight afterwards x

I was hoping to just not find out how much I'd put on (good old head in the sand approach!) but they're weighing me on Thursday so the horrible truth will be revealed then. I'm kind of looking forward to losing the weight afterwards too Jodie, bit mad considering I'm clearly crap at losing weight. Keep planning exercises and what I'm going to do so *hopefully* it'll come off ok!

Oh yeah and I definitely will be newly obese as was BMI 30 at 8 weeks and now will clearly be heavier so be over 31 so actually obese. No smiley face for that fact!

Yep me too actually obese fatty boom boom here :) at least its for a good cause! I'm also looking forward to losing it too. Girls we'll be grand. We're bound to lose some through stress alone

Yeah same here - am oddly looking forward to losing the weight and feeling fresh and fit again :) I dont know if ill feel so positive when im stuck on the salads all summer but i just cant wait to be ME again!! x

I can't wait to get to me again. I am looking forward to walks and just getting fit. X x

Bring on the post baby weight loss thread! x

I got weighed today and I've put on 1 stone 8 lbs which I don't think is much at all considering I've essentially spent the last 7 months eating chocolate and cake, but the consultant was all negative about it and said I can't put any more on during my pregnancy.
