BUY A COAT WITH A HOOD!

Stanley and I have just been on our fist solo walk in the rain, and I realised you can't carry an umbrella and push a pushchair, I got soaked!

It's amazing how something so obvious can escape a sleep-deprived brain


Were there any lessons you learnt the hard way?

always cover a newborn baby boys willy with something when changing a nappy you have no idea how many times i got peed on! you'd think i would learn but with a sleep deprived mind it took ages before i learnt to put a muslin or terry cloth over the offending article the second the nappy came off

he evewn aimed it right in the open nappy drawer once - he's a good shot at least

speaking of the rain i was actually thrilled it rained today as alex got to wear his new Little Rocha coat ( i have to take him in a carrier on the bus to get to mil's so cant go in the buggy with rain cover). got it in the debenhams sale a while ago and it hasnt been cold or wet enough for him to wear till today - looked so cute

make sure baby has finished pooing before removing nappy or it will fly out like a squeezed tube of toothpaste and hit the wall!!

Oh good tip about changing a boys nappy! I never knew that. I've only ever changed girls nappies, so i'll be getting plenty of practice in January.

I learnt the nappy lesson the hard way too!

It's one of nature's cruel jokes that little boys are born with willies at the perfect angle to wee in their own face! Stanley was not amused, but I was!

Yeah remember to take all the things out the bottom of the buggy before folding it broke 2 mclarrens, thankfully mothercare took them back, and remeber your buggy rain cover on a sunny day in scotland we have 4 season in one day here!! Agree with the brolly thing but had anyone seen a fashionable coat with a hood? ive searched every where, OH is telling me to wear my big fat mama coat from when i was pregnant eh NO!! XkelX
