Hello everyone. Kinda feel silly being here but with only google to go by and research on I figured Id sign up here and ask. I mean we are all here for the sake of having a baby right? LOL
Anyways I am 43 years old and my fiancee is 47 years old. We both have 3 children each from previous relationships but we really want to try one with us.
My 3 kids were conceived naturally as his were as well. I always had a hard to time to conceive but did buy a fertility monitor with my second baby and worked in the 2nd cycle!! So I bought one and I am using it now. I am on cd9 so far.
Anyways I know we are not in the financial area to use IVF or any sort of things like that. I am willing to use supplements etc if those help, however I don't want to mess up my cycle or anything either. FYI: I did recently take out my Mirena IUD back in September this year and after just 4 days of it being out I bled. Ever since then I have been very regular with cycles. Since then they start every month on the 7th!! A good sigh right??
Im hoping to get some input on here as to what I should do, if there is hope or don't bother to try?? We really want a baby and hope someone here can guise me into what's best and if there is a chance. Thanks to everyone reading all the way through!!!!! I appreciate you!!!

Good luck! I know of one person who I think conceived naturally at 44, though of course as you know it is a long shot. I know a few others whose pregnancies at age 39/40/41 were definitely natural (as they were surprises!), but at that age every year is meaningful in fertility terms. Maybe it is a myth, but I've heard that it is more likely to conceive past 40 if you've already had kids than if it is your first time, so you have that working in your favor.

Are there fertility options other than IVF that might work for you? My understanding is that there are other treatments out there that are less effective than IVF, but also much, much cheaper. And IVF success rates aren't that great for your age group in any case.

Hi lovely, I think given your cycles are super regular, you have a fighting chance. Have you had any egg analysis to see what you’re working with? I don’t know how much that costs mind so apologies if it’s loads as I saw you said you’re not in the financial position to go down the IVF route. I think go for it. I use an Ava bracelet and have fallen pregnant for a sixth time (I have one little girl earth side and four angel babies) and I honestly swear by it. No annoying temping before you move a muscle in the morning. cheap opks are the way to go, if you use the clear blue OPK monitor it’s not going to be helpful if you have a short ‘surge’ and with cheap sticks you can test multiple times a day to pinpoint your surge. Then the Ava will help identify if and when you ovulated through accurate basal body temperature monitoring. I think give it a go and see what your body is doing. You’ll know if you’re ovulating or not and when and you can really give it your best shot. Without opks and my Ava bracelet I see myself as walking through a forest blindfolded. Best of luck! X

Just wanted to jump in to note that there's a whole sub-forum on the whattoexpect forums for people TTC at 45 + (I assume there's one for 40 + too). There are a few moms on there who conceived naturally as late as LATE 40s. Again, can't count on it, but here's hoping!

Good luck with your journey @Sweetpea02 !

I'm on the same boat, TTC naturally. I'm 39 and trying already for two years and really nothing happened so far. :-(
So I started to consider IVF as an option as well gradually. Honestly the price is too much in the UK but I was looking into clinics abroad and it's much more affordable.

Heads up to @babylove2016 for the AVA bracelet tip, I'll give it a try!
