So the midwives have all been wrong. EDD was 6/05 and still no baby, despite being told that they were so big they'd be a late April baby, that I wouldn't be going to my 40 week appointment, and after a sweep yesterday at 40+5 that I won't be seeing them for sweep 2 on Thursday...but considering I've not even had a single cramp 24 hours later, I'm guessing that's wrong too.

So, I'm booked for an induction on Monday as an outpatient, with the idea that I will be admitted the next day.

What difference is this going to make to what I should pack in my hospital bag?

I've got enough clothes for a couple of nights I think. But is there anything else I should be taking considering I might be staying longer than expected? Does being induced change the length of time they like to keep you in afterwards?

I only live 15 minutes from the hospital so I can always send hubby for more clothes.

Any advice appreciated

Oh him how rubbish! I don't think it makes a difference to how long they make you stay in, all depends on how your labour goes but some ladies take a good 24-48 hours to get going after being induced so maybe pack some extra clothes and done stuff to do like magazines etc x good luck xxx

I'm sorry that it seems to have reached induction stage. As roxy says they generally take a while so take plenty to keep you and you OH entertained and fed.

Good luck and a really hope baby arrives before the induction :-)

Sorry to read this, no advice as FTm but good luck and hope that bun arrives soon x

I would say pack enough for two nights and more undies. You may find your labour might be quick as a result of induction. Sometimes you need a bit of extra reminding for your body that you need to go into labour so don't be too stressed. It can all still happen very quickly!! Maybe pack some extra best tops etc (light clothing) as the wards WILL get stuffy. You might just like to wear a pair of shorts and a tank top and the a cardi on top. Best of luck to you xx

I'd maybe pack a little extra for you, as it could end up your in hospital for a few days before having your baby if the induction is slow.

Generally it shouldn't make any difference to how long you stay afterwards if all goes well. Same as any labour really!

I'd packed a standby bag as well as my hospital bag with extra bits my OH could grab easily while I was in hospital if I needed them.

I was induced and kept in over night so they could check over baby (nothing was wrong with him was just the norm with induced babies) I would just pack a couple of extra tops and bottoms. Oh and knickers x
