Has anyone gone into labour naturally following a previous induction?

I was induced dead on 40 weeks with my first due to high blood pressure. This time round I am going to get induced at 40+2 due to medication I am on. I am hoping to go into labour naturally before that.

What I want to know is, did your labours start any differently second time round. With induction after the 2nd pessary I had a bit of mucous blood and then my waters broke, then aches and pains, then into contractions.

I am doing my head in by symptom spotting and trying to work out if things are going to start off any differently!

I was induced at 40+3 with my first son also due to high bp. Had one pessary, my waters broke a couple of hours later and was thrown straight into the deep end of full blown labour.

With my second baby Id been having strong braxton hicks for a couple of weeks and woke up the morning I turned 39+1 weeks with regular tightenings, not painful at all just realised they were coming in a pattern. Got up to find Id started to lose quite alot of my plug and was told to go in as Id been having problems with my bp again. Wasnt doing an awful lot on examination but they kept me in as my bp was going up and up. They came to break my waters at 10pm that night and I was 9cm dilated  - he was born an hour later! Really lovely experience, pain never unbearable, not a stitch in sight and only needed a bit of gas and air when I was pushing.

Hoping that things start naturally this time around but fully prepared to get something completely different again. I was worried too last time that I wouldnt spot the sighns if I went into labour myself but I definately did and Im sure you will too. Wishing you lots of luck xxx

I was induced at 39 weeks with dd1 for pre eclampsia. Not a great experience, hugely painful - contractions came on thick and fast, much faster than the mws were prepared for. Gas and air made me feel out of control. Couldn't move position due to baby constantly being monitored throughout. Could only have pethidine in half dose as things progressed too quickly. Amongst the worst 4 hours of my life.

Skip forward 2 years nearly to the day. Woke up at 7am with mild cramping and a poorly tummy which I'd put down to the chilli the night before. Spent next 2 hours on the loo (tmi sorry!) At 9am realised cramping was regular but still quite far apart. By 11 they were about 10 mins apart but bearable. By 12 they were 5 mins apart on the way to hospital. At hospital I got a bit upset and overwhelmed by memories of no.1 but had lovely midwives and dr. Cannot fault them. Was able to move around as I wanted and had my easiest birth by 1250 when Minnie was literally caught coming out! No painkillers. Only problem was my BP kept spiking so they were a little concerned but situation was so well managed. There was no stress of panic like the first time. Totally loved it! Best 4 hours of my life!

Thanks! I am so hoping I go into labour naturally this time round. I don't plan on having any more children so this is my only hope! I've just eaten a very spicy Thai takeaway..

Anyhow, it's nice to read such positive stories following induction. X

I WENT THROUGH 2 NATURAL LABOURS. THE FIRST ALMOST KILLED ME. (NOT LITTERALLY, THANK GOD)

THE SEND I USED SOMETHING CALLED LABORAIDE

IT ACTUALLY HELPED ME COPE WITH THE PAIN AND ACTUALLY GAVE ME SOME PAIN RELIEF.
