I'm only just over 5 weeks pregnant and I don't like calling the baby 'it', so I wondered what people called theirs before it was born?

I am trying to get out the habit of calling baby "it" LOL

I am team yellow so cannot refer to him / her but I do try where possible (on here and in real life) to refer to baby as baby, bub, bambino, belly bean.

So if baby is has a quiet day I will tell OH "bub has been quiet today"

I do still occasionally revert to "it" though

xxxxxxxxxx

We call ours peanut - as thats what it looked like on my scan at 6 weeks!

The whole family calls it peanut too - and we were out at the weekend and found a picture of an elephant for the nursery and the elephant was called peanut! MIL couldn't resist!

We call ours The Newbie :)

We called Jack 'he' from day 1 because we just knew he was a boy. This time we don't have any 'feeling' either way so The Newbie is sticking for now x

my bump was bear and now i refer to baby as keira bear when tlkin to her xxx

We chose names early on Daisy or Dexter so bump was known as D. I still say D if texting but now I use her name!

I hate IT too xxx

With Ella we were team yellow and hubby loves Elvis and I said I wouldn't ever call a boy Elvis but bump got nicknamed Elvis bump rather than it! Might find out this time though and no nickname yet x

im only 6 weeks so as online it states my baby is the size of a pea we have being calling it little pea :)

Ds was poppyseed for a while, then we just referee to him as bump (we were team yellow)

This little one has been sugarlump from when we found out

I know I am having a boy and have picked his name, but still refer to him as bubs xxx

For some reason I keep finding myself referring to it as "her" or "she" without thinking, maybe it's mothers intuition?

Mine has been referred to as Bean. Thats what friends and family call him too!

XX

Bump is called minion (out of despicable me) hubby had started using this (thot he was referring to bump but he actually meant me) minion has stuck for bump now though we do refer to them properly at home where noone else is listening hehe xx

Bump was called peanut but our peanut is a lot bigger now so it is just baby :)

We called ours imp as it was a little trouble maker causing plenty of mischief for me lol. We just say 'the baby' now with the odd 'it' I'm sure, i think the name change happened when it all seemed a bit more like there was a baby in there with kicking and 20 week scans and the massive bump! xx

We called ours bumpy, and then we lost it at 12 weeks, so then when I fell preg again, we didn't want to use the same name or anything simular, I called it baby Jones till 20 week scan and then wed accidently found out he was a he and then called him little man, it has stuck since

my first pregnancy we called smudge cos when I showed DH what it would look like on the scan at 5 weeks he said it just looked like a little smudge and it stuck. I found it quite hard when i lost the pregnancy so this time its just been informally known as bubs, bean and baby, but I'm always referring to it as a she too so really looking forward to the 20 week scan tomorrow!

as my user name here is drummers wife as my hubby is in 2 bands - ive decided to name my bump/baby drumstick xx

He was known as bug, as I thought I ad a stomach bug lol x x
