hey ladies,
im just wondering how do you cut your LOs nails?
im to scared to bite them, and e tried the little clippers but DH caught jacks finger it didnt bleed or anything! but its kinda put us off! they r getting really long and he is scratching himself :(

I do it when Angel is asleep and use nail scissors. She has a habit of whipping her hand out just as i do it ir grabbing with the other hand! So sleep is the best time.

I've been using one of my old very worn out nail files to keep them blunt on the corners and when DH gives her a bottle I use the nail clippers. They grow so quickly!

I bit them when Arianna was tiny, so much easier and safer. Now I use nail clippers

I'm very lucky Evie will sit happily while I cut her nails.

I started cutting them as soon as we got home from hospital (or at least pretending too  ) anyway now it's so normal thats she'll sit on my knee and have them cut. She even lets me clean her ears, in fact thats one of her favourite things! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Cut them with nail clippers or scissors when he's being fed

Or bite them when he's sleepy

One midwife told me to bite them and I was like
I've also been advised by another that as my own nails are long to just scratch at them with my own nails and pull the tips off

To be honest I'm using a nail file instead
I do have a small pair of scissors (safety ones sold as 'baby nail cutters' ) for when his fingers are a bit bigger.

As a newbie I bit them off but son started using baby nail clippers. I was terrified at first and kept leaving them but soon got used to it. I recommend just trying to pull the top of the nail away from the finger if you know what I mean. Makes it easier.

thanks 4 the replies ladies!! i think i will try and rip them as some of u suggested thank you xxx

My OH clips them while I pin her arms and legs down!!! :rotfl:
