My time is coming to an end

So after nearly a year (Harry is 1 on the 19th) I think my bf days are nearly over

Over the last few weeks I've been only feeding H at bedtime and formula feeding and giving cows milk the rest if the time

At night time I've been formula feeding for a while as a top up to booby,but I've been wanting to stop so eventually someone else (ie hubby) can put H to bed.

And so last night he went to bed with just formula and only a little squawk when he wanted booby- was wondering whether it was a fluke but he's done the same tonight

Was dreading trying to cut out this feed cos my boy has always loved boob (hubby jokes that he visits the "milk bar") but I think my boy is just growing up and realises that he gets lots more from a bottle

Pointless post really but
I'm proud to have done it for so long- I never had a fixed point in my mind but I think I want my body back and and if I'm Being selfish I want the chance at some point to leave Harry with my parents for the night which has been a no go so far

But I've loved nearly every minute of bf and I'm sure before my milk totally goes I'll let my boy have a cheeky visit to the milk bar !!

You've done it for the recommended time and you should be proud of your achievement.

I felt a bit sad when T decided she didn't want it any more, but I think I'd rather she stopped on her own that us having battles to wean her.

And it's nice to have your body back too

Ps, I'd advise hand expressing in the shower over the next few days if you are stopping completely or he doesn't feed. My boobs went all bumpy and sore for a bit and that helped.

we stopped the day after her 1st birthday, she just wasnt interested anymore and like you id been giving a bottle at bedtime. its nice when they pretty much self wean as theyre not that bothered about it, alyssa hasnt asked for boob since.

Well done hun, you have done fab, i was sad to stop too but he wasnt bothered lol. I also got sorw boobies for a couple of days too but not too bad as did stop gradually.x
