Thea was examined by the paediatrician today, she was worried about her hips as she doesnt appear to have full movement in them The dr's English wasnt great either so we had no idea how big or small the problem actually was.
Later in the day a surgeon came to see her. He examined her and said that she will need an ultrasound on her hips at 4 weeks to confirm it but he is fairly sure she has a problem with her muscles around her hip joints, that they are shortened and this is why she doesnt have full flexibility in them. My poor girl screamed through the exam, he was pulling and twisting her legs and I just wanted to hit and tell him to get his hands off my baby!
So now until this ultrasound can be done we have to exercise her hips every time we change her nappy and after her bath. I did it tonight and I felt like crap. She screamed and screamed and by the time we were done I was in tears too.
Apparently these exercises can be really good though and stop any need for surgery so I know we have to carry on with them, it just breaks my heart to do it.
