My Metformin struggle..

Hello lovely ladies!

I've been trying to get pregnant and because I have Pcos and it didn't work out, my doctor put me on Metformin.

In all the experience reports I read women seem to get pregnant in the second month. While I didn't necessarily expect that, I feel like I'm having a negative experience with metformin, so here goes:

I had my last period before starting metformin a month and a half before I took the first tablet. Now I'm 2 full months in and my first period on the medication started two weeks ago. And it's still going and getting stronger and stronger.

I didn't expect any miracles but I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm rather upset.

Has anyone made similar experiences and cares to share?

Hi Hun, i have pcos but I didn’t go on metformin.

My sister did however as she has pcos but unfortunately she didn’t get pregnant and went on to ivf.

Whether or not it works is entirely dependent on your condition as an individual. Some ladies respond well though.

Even if you are a healthy person with no conditions there is only a 25% chance of getting pregnant each month so try not to be so disappointed so early on.

My doctor has also recommended inofolic for my PCOS so that might be worth a look too.
