Hi all
just thought i would let you all know that little Oscar was born on 5th October 2011 at 12.27pm weighing 6lb 6oz. He was 2 weeks early, and my labour lasted a total of 4 and a half hours from when my waters broke!
very sore now but he is worth it, he is soo perfect
I was supposed to be on holiday this week in Devon, but decided to come home early as I didnt feel well. good job too, as the very next morning my waters went at about 8am. after a couple of phone calls to the midwife and then a very hectic dash to the hospital, i arrived 8cm dilated. my birth plan went out the window as there was no time for the birth pool for pain relief or my music or anything!
Gas and air was my only pain relief, left me completely spaced out but really helped.
Unfortunately his head got a bit stuck on the way out and I got a grade 2 tear on one side. Once he was born the drama started. My placenta decided to stay put, and i almost had to go to theater to get it out. But after an injection and a lot of prodding and poking and pain it came out. I then had to get sutured and examined about 50 times.
I got about 3 hours sleep due to other babies crying, but luckily Oscar is very contented.
Had to stay in overnight, but I am now home and so happy that I have my beautiful little boy!
