my cycle and confusion - your opinion needed pls!!!

HI Ladies,

Can anyone offer they're advice/opinion on this situation:

Stopped pill (after 10 yrs) on the 14th Sept
Took random ov test on 5th Oct, which was positive
AF came this morning, 13th Oct (1st proper one for 10 years)?

So bascially I came on 8 days after the positive ov test - could it have been a false reading? and should I be bd-ing as soon as AF stops? So new to this, but so desperate for my BFP!

I think you should start taking your temperature on a morning and seeing how your cycle looks that way, its the only real way to see whats going on.

thanks guys, and i feel really stupid but do i use a normal thermometer or buy a different one?

and when am i supposed to do it? sorry i am one clueless bunny!

well our pound shop are selling good digital ones, so i would check there first - savers have Predictor ones for £2.99 - boots prices are like £8.99!
Any thermometer will do though, and you take it as soon as you wake up then make a graph, then youre looking for dips and rises which will tell you when you ovulated.
If you arent succesful one month then the next month you can really up yur chances as you'll know your most fertile days instead of guessing.
