Mummy's Girl

Phoebe is such a mummy's girl at the moment. It's really sweet but OH is feeling a bit pushed out. He's been off work all this week and he's been trying to fit round our routine and help out but Phoebe seems to be having none of it.
All week whenever he's fed her she's wriggled and cried, yet when I've taken over she's took her milk fine.
He's put her to bed this evening and normally she has her milk and settles straight away for me but tonight she's cried when daddy's put her to bed. I've watched him on the moniter and he's done everything I normally do, feed her in the dark, not talk to her just shushing and cuddling if she gets grizzly and played lullabies but she's had none of it. I've had to go up and settle her myself and again she settled really easily for me.
OH is getting rather upset by it all but I'm really not sure what else to do.

I'm meant to be going out on saturday for the first night since having Phoebe and I'm dreading it to be honest, I'm going to be so worried all night.

It can't be seperation anxiety already can it!?

Could it be cos she knows your there??

The first time DH had G for bedtime he said she screamed all night (clearly didn't cos she wasn't wound up when I came in), the next time I came home to utter silence and they were both sound asleep. Tonight she was with in laws, and was screaming when i came in -MIL said she'd just started and she stopped the minute I spoke to her.

I'm sure phoebe will be fine, maybe just one of those nights. Xxx

Aw bless her, Ella is exactly the same but her dad doesnt live with us so i just put it down to her not really knowing him like she does me?!

It's been all week though, pretty much everytime he's tried to feed her but then taken it from me fine. I normally try and leave them to it and get on with other things but I end up having to come and take over when she gets hysterical
She plays with him fine though :/ x

Hmm it might be that, he does work pretty long hours, he leaves the house at 6.30am and doesn't get back til 7pm and she goes for bath, bottle and bed at 9 and he rarely puts her to bed tbh.
I've told him we need to alternate it from now on so she can get used to him putting her to bed more cos obviously I'm not going to be able to do it everytime x

This is the phase where they start to realise more about what's going in!! Apparently, they take a preference to mummy's around this stage, we'll get the biggest smiles, giggles and attention!! Stanley has taken to staring at me, so intensely lol

The more they learn that we are still going to be there for them the more they will accept other people doing stuff!!!

That's what happens in my experience, too. My older daugher was a real mummy's girl at that age, and it lasted until she was about 2, and then she turned into Daddy's girl completely, which lasted until she was about 7, and since then she doesn't seem to have any preference (which is nice!). My husband got really jealous at the time, too, but unfortunately I think it's just one of those things that they go through in their development, she'll grow out of it soon enough!
