Hi everyone, I am very new to these types of forums... Been reading a few threads and don't even understand half of the abbreviations!!
Anyway, my story so far...
I came off my pill in April 2017 and since then I've had 3 miscarriages. The first at 8weeks, second at 5 weeks and the most recent at 4 weeks(literally took a test on the day I was due on which was positive and then started bleeding later that day!).
We've been to the doctor's and although it hasn't been 1 year since I came off the pill, because I've had 3 miscarriages they have referred us. I've had bloods which came back fine, swabs showed that I've got StrepB (which is apparently normal in 40%of pregnant women) and also ultrasound tests came back fine. My partner has been for sperm analysis which again came back fine!!
I've got my appointment on 5thApril with the fertility doctor where we both have to go so they can review all our results and make a plan.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation??
Everyone keeps saying 'well at least you know you can get pregnant'... Yes that's great but it's not helping me!!!
Any advice would be much appreciated! Xx

Welcome! I'm still trying to understand all the abbreviations too! haha

I'm sorry about the multiple miscarriages, that must be frustrating. :(

Maybe you should check for Factor V Lieden (blood clotting disorder). I had that done and found out I am heterozygous, which means I got it from one parent. Homo would be both parents. Apparently, I'm at a higher risk for miscarriages and will have to take aspirin to prevent it. What tests did they do on you? Were your hematocrit and hemoglobin normal? Magnesium levels good? No cysts on ultrasounds?

Do you take probiotics? Multivitamins? Group B strep is associated with miscarriages and I would start taking a ton of probiotics. I had it once and my doctor recommended loading up on them and ever since I did, I've been clear of strep B. It's the bad kind that isn't good for the baby.

Hang in there! It's good you are seeing a specialist so they can pinpoint what is going on. Keep us updated and good luck to you! <3

To be honest I'm not really sure what they tested for... She just said we will do your bloods and take some swabs! Then they just said everything was normal (apart from the strep B). She also said that the strep B was nothing to worry about until late pregnancy?!
Again with the ultrasound i just got told my results were normal... So not really sure what was checked for there either!!
I've only been taking folic acid as that's all the doctor advised.
Thanks for your reply!

I am so sorry for your losses. The one thing I’ve heard from multiple doctors is that it’s vital to take the active form of folic acid (folate, or methylated folic acid) ESPECIALLY if you’ve had miscarriages. I hope that helps.

How old are you by the way?

I agree with Kholl, take the folate version. I would also take a prenatal, you need the vitamins. Try out Pro B probiotics, if you want. They are my favorite. Kinda expensive, but they work sooooo great! You want that StrepB gone asap! StrepB is bad in the first trimester as well. If your cervix is open (cervical incompetence), it can reach the baby and give it pneumonia and sepsis, in turn a miscarriage.

Hang in there. <3

I'm 28. Will definitely purchase some vitamins too! Thanks again for your advice guys xx

I’m so sorry to hear of ur losses it is a terrible thing to go through. After my mmc the doctor recommended that next time to take baby aspirin. It helps keep the blood thin and is advised to women with recurrent miscarriage. I’m not sure if u had been told this so it might help xx
