Mucus plug?

Bit of a TMI question ladies, sorry!

I'm 34+4, and have been having the usual discharge throughout my pregnancy, no odour/concerns etc. However, when I wiped today there were a couple of very small almost green coloured bits on the tissue too. Is this likely to be small bits of mucus plug? Sorry for the info but it was almost the consistency of snot/a bogey... sorry!!

I know baby is getting very low now, as at 32 weeks baby was 3/5 engaged, and has since just become more and more uncomfortable on my cervix. I've also been getting lots of Braxton Hicks. So hopefully things look positive in the sense of baby being ready for the big day in a few weeks time!

Like I said it was only tiny so I'm not concerned, however I don't know anything at all about my mucus plug - has anyone got experience/advice?

Thanks in advance!!

My mucus plug was like thick egg white with blood mixed in with it. I would ring your midwife for advice as green colour doesn't sound quite right to me. x

Mucus plug is basically a big ball of fanny snot (excuse my French). It can come away in bits and it sounds like it's exactly that. Sometimes they can have a tinge of blood (should never be more than a tinge). It often looks see through/greenish like snot, hence called 'mucus' plug! Mine came out at 29 weeks but then some more at 33, green and snotty looking and quite a large amount they can regenerate so it's nothing to worry about. Sometimes they can come when labour is imminent, sometimes they go during labour. Everyone is different. If you have any with more than a very slight tinge of blood then call MW xx

Thank you both! I've not noticed anything since, but these Braxton Hicks are becoming more and more regular lately so hopefully won't be too much longer! The disgusting things our poor bodies go through!! Haha. I'll keep an eye on it! Hurry up due date! Can't wait to meet baby now... :-)

I am absolutely crying at fanny snot but it's so true! Little bits coming away are normal, you'll know if you lose your full plug cus it's fooking enormous!

Hahaha! Thank you! The joys of pregnancy haha!
