Has anybdy had one? What happens? Is it the tube thing?

Callum has to go for one to check his brain, and I was in such a palava, I didn't really listen to what the doctor was saying. He's only had ultrasound scans on it up until now, so it was bit of a shock to be told he's going for an MRI scan :(

Yeah it's in the tube.

It is VERY claustrophobic in there as the "roof" of it is just and inch or so away from your face.

My step-dad has had more thnan one and he says it's best to just lie there with your eyes closed and try to sleep or daydream.

I hope everything is OK

 We're in for a fun time. The tube looks huge when you see them on tv.

We've told him they're going to look for Callum World which he's happy about. Fingers crossed he won't chuck a wobbler - I'm sure they'll be used to kids in them though :|

Maybe they will sedate him a little bit...thats what I remember you have to keep VERY still...not sure if they make kids drowsy or not.
Its also claustrophobic becuase it all moves around inside and makes funny noises.
Good luck.

Thanks Urchin - that link has put my mind at rest a bit. He said we'd get a leaflet when the appointment came through, but I'm a stresshead. He can't be sedated, but I'm sure he'll be ok with videos - will have to wait for the leaflet and hope that our hossie allow them.

Thanks Cassi - a day off school, followed by a shopping trip and MaccyD's, what else could a kid ask for
