movements?

Hi girls,

well this is my fourth pregnancy, i have my first scan on the 1st of may and lately when im sitting on the sofa i can feel a real distinctive popping, or flicking movement a couple of inches above my belly button. Im a little unsure of how many weeks i am due to dodgy periods but im roughly in my calculations about 12-14 weeks. Now im a little confused, because this really does feel like the first flutterings of baby but its high up and when they give you your first scan they scan your lower abdominal
Can anyone explain this to me? is it possible? it really doesnt feel like wind or a tummy rumble x

I'm definitely no expert but have heard that you can often feel baby earlier in pregnancy if you've had a number of babies before! Or maybe your calculations are a little out and you're further along than you think? Anyway, good luck with your scan xx

I would think it would be baby, thats how I would have described my feelings of babys first movement, and I felt them around 14 weeks, and this is my first pregnancy!

However, being above your belly button, it could be just muscle spasms?! Mine have always been below my belly button... But then again, you just know deep down when it's baby and when it's just a spasm in your muscles!

It does sound too high to just be baby movements .It could be where your stomach and all other organs are moving around to make room for your growing uterus , or maybe baby doing something to cause the bubbles you feel higher up. I've just felt my first movement of this pregnancy (6th) and I'm 12 weeks. All the best xx

This Is My Second, i havent felt anything yet :L Cant wait tho Had my scan a few days ago and baby was VERY active lolz I think i might agree that what your feeling is probably organs shifting around... You'll soon know tho Goodluck with everything x

so when everyone else has felt baby move for the first time, has it been quite low down? sounds strange asking this seeings as its my 4th but i cant seem to remember! lol it didnt feel like muscles spasms, it felt like a pop or a poke. other times its just a really light fluttering sensation but again its around my belly button. im just a bit confused! lol x

The movement I felt last night, if you did draw a line between your belly button and the top of your leg it was in the middle of that line if you can understand what I mean. xx

I think it's totally possible that your baby movements are touching a nerve and maybe that is why you are feeling them differently .

hi i think its hiughly unlikely to be baby movements that far up cos its usualy 20 weeks onwards that u feel movement above ur button cos thats the half way mark unless in fact ur further on than u think maybe xx

hmmm strange! it really felt like a baby poke. i know im not as far as 20 weeks, so maybe it was just bubbles or something. x
