I am sure this has been covered somewhere in these forums already but i am new to forums and new to pregnancy.

I am approx 8 weeks in and this last week i have started to feel sick. I have not been sick yet, although i have come close, i just gag at everything, cant find anything to eat, and feel sick all day, from when i wake up to when i go to bed!! I cant seem to shift it and i cant get on with anything- i tried doing the washing up this morning but had to stop, i cant even feed my 2 cats as the cat food makes me feel sick.

I know you have all been here and done that and i also know that everyone gets affected differently BUT i was wondering if anyone has any advice on when it might end!! or what i can eat/ drink to help with symptoms-what worked for you?

Someone told me crackers and ginger ale.
perhaps just something really bland, even a sandwitch might help.

I had that, my poor cats thought they were being punished.

Eat little and often. I found eating every hour and a half, just a biscuit or two whether I was hungry or not helped. Carry some sick bags with you (pick n mix bags are fine) just in case. I didn't bother with set meal times in the end and just had to graze all day. It will end. I just woke up one day and it had gone.

ive been quite bad with it, havent been sick much but been feeling it!!! :puke:

I was told ginger helps, and rich tea, take them to bed and nibble one b4 you get up!!!

I dont like ginger so cant comment

I read actually that your morning sickness comes on more when your blood sugar level is low so the last couple of days i have tried eating in between meals. I have also been sucking hard boiled sweets which seems to help.

I also read that ginger can help. I might try some ginger nut biscuits.

What do you do all day? I cant seem to get on with anything and i,m so used to being active.

So my gorgeous husband came home from work with a bottle of Ginger Ale and some ginger nut biscuits and they seem to be working. I had a biscuit and a couple of sips before i went to bed and the same before i got out of bed. I have managed to eat breakfast have shower and even do my hair.
I,m not 100% but i feel sssooooo much better!

I cant do anything much..... when I get a burst of energy I do some house work, ive got a pile of ironing to do and cant be bothered, its been there for a week.... i just try and do what I can when I can... Ive said it b4 and I will say it again I take my hat off to those on here with little ones running about while they are feeling like this cause im bad enough with just myself and lee to look after

its killing me tho cause im normally so organised and the house is always spotless and I feel like im living in a shit tip at the min! :(

I have been told that eating a biscuit before you get up and then not getting up for 10 mins may help. Doesn't work for me tho as I usually have to run to the loo
I have tried sickness bands as well. Apparently we will start feeling better between 12-14 weeks. I can't wait!

I just veg in front of TV and computer. My husbands been great about it. Although he doesnt do the cleaning as i would like it! he is doing a good job keeping the house in some decent state (i just hope we dont get any visitors)

Im pleased we haven't had many visitors cause to me the house aint clean enough .... asda order came this morning and it took all my energy to put it away and had to ave a sit down after  while putting it away all the different smells were making me retch :(

It took me all afternoon to clean the bathroom as I had to keep stopping and starting again and cooking in another matter cause I just wanna be sick and retch all the time :puke:

My brain doesn't work either! I should be doing course work but I know im not thinking straight at the min so dont wanna mess it up.... just feel like im not awake is the best way to describe it!! like im walking around in a daze!!

Thats the best way to discribe it! I too feel like the days just roll into one and i,m staring at the computer all day but not doing any work as my brain just isnt working.

My bathroom really needs doing but the smell makes me gag. I am going to try and clean it today.

My husband feels so bad as he cant help me. Our house has a smell that makes me gag all day but he cant smell it. He went and brought 5 air freshners the other day and dotted them around the house but after 2 days they made me gag.

I,m thinking about staying with my family for a few days to see if their house smells any better.

We had a family function yesterday which had been booked for ages and i really wanted to go but was worried i wouldnt feel up to it. I woke up feeling full of energy and not sick! so i got my glad rags on and went out for the whole day (no afternoon nap) i even managed to eat all the food including 2 helpings of birthday cake! TODAY I FELL C**P!!!!

sat I think it was was running about all day, did loads of house work and felt great, was thinking this is mint I can manage loads and feel great until I sat down and that was it, I was exhausted and couldnt do anything else!!

I know how you all feel. I am so tired, constantly sick, can't get the motivation to clean my house- I have actually organised for a cleaner to come every week! It is definately worth the money though, I hate living in a mess and my OH does not have the same high standards!!

I can;t wait for this bit of pregnancy to be over, 1st trimester i definately the worst!!!

I was thinking about getting a cleaner but my husband said we cant afford it, so last night he came home from a long day at work and did the washing up, hung out the washing, changed the cat litter trays and cleaned the bathroom!!! He is a superstar i am so lucky!
