How are you all finding it money wise.

I have a feeling that I am going to have to go back to work early, as I do t think we can afford to have me at home until January. But I don't want to miss this time and regret it.
It's just my DH is at uni so it's only my money we have coming in at the mo and it's not enough.

I have to go back in July LO will be 7 months and it is breaking my heart but I can't afford to not it sucks majorly

We're tootling along. OH earnt a lot more than me anyway and it's looking like it might not be worthwhile for me to go back. My maternity pay isn't a huge amount less than normal.

We're doing ok at the moment. My maternity pay hasn't dropped to SMP yet so with child benefit and tax credits i'm actually bringing more in than i did prior to Jack being born! But it won't last much longer, when i go down to SMP i think we'll struggle majorly. Trying to do some freelancing work from home to bump up the earnings but it's not easy to fit in with a million other things to do x

I'm back at work soon. When I had my 1st I didn't really wana go back to work, but I would have went insane if I didn't work, coz there gets to a point where you are just fed up sitting about with nothing to do apart from watch LO, you kinda lose your sense of self if that makes sense. This time i'm split, coz kayden has been ill i'm alot more bonded with him than my 1st so its harder to think of putting him into nursery but I know I have to, I kinda need to get myself back to normal.

Money wise were slightly less these last 3 months but its not enough to effect anything. Will be more out of pocket when LO goes to nursery but the extra i get from wages will make up for it.

We could probs manage without me working but it would mean just paying bills & food ect & no spare money for holidays & stuff & no savings either.

It's OK for now because I get occupational maternity pay. It ends the middle of next month I'll get SMP, this will also be the time that OH likely goes on a "long vacation" so it's really gonna bite me in the arse.

Im not going back to work properly but my old job want me to come in to cover holiday etc, doing my first lot starting in July a couple of days a week!! EEeeek!! Kinda looking forward to it tho!!

Hi Hun can you plan in keeping in touch days to boost your income? SMP sucks huge I really don't want to go back to work but it looks le I have no choice x
