I think my boy has a bit of colic in the evenings, but the last couple of nights only his dad seems to be able to settle him. He even seems to get what looks like the starts of a smile out of him when he blows raspberries at him.

Is it because he misses him during the day? or something else?

Hi Flame

It's probably because your OH is less tense than you are when he holds the LO during the crying. When you get stressed your LO picks up on it and this just makes things worse. OH probably can be a bit more relaxed than you because he's been out at work all day.
When my first dd had colic, the only person who could calm her was my mum who was over to stay with us for a few weeks, she just wasn't as stressed as we were and was able to soothe her by cradling and walking around with her.

Let your OH take over for a while in the evenings, and when he starts to get stressed then swap.

Hope things improve soon

Are you breast feeding? We used to find that at times Daddy was the only one who could calm Ellie when she had colic. We think it was partly because Ellie could smell the milk on me and that fustrated her more as her tummy was in pain.

I hope i dont speak to soon but it seems to have calmed slightly now. Yes he is on infacol so that will probably be helping plus i am calmer now so hopefully that is partly it to.
