Hi
Feel a bit thick asking this but not clear what the difference is between the two.
For those of you who don't know, I had a scan last week at 9+4 (by LMP, 8+6 by ov date) and was told that there was only a tiny sac measuring about 5 weeks. Am due for a re-scan next Weds to confirm viability although have been warned it is very likely not, and just wondering what this is actually called. Does it only become a missed m/c once an embryo is seen within the sac?
The only reason I ask is that am sort of thinking along the lines of, if I've had a different type of m/c to last time (spontaneous m/c) then does that mean that I've just been really unlucky twice, as opposed to thinking I might have a problem in staying pregnant. Or is a m/c a m/c no matter what type you have?
Sorry, I know this probably sounds really daft; I just like to understand what's going on and why.
