Hi everyone,
Just been for my check-up with the mw. Everything is fine. Baby is fully engaged , she said it was 2/5 palpable. The student mw who felt bump before her couldn't feel the head at all!! There are leucites +2 (sp) in my urine, but they didn't say anything about this. No more glucose (I restrained from eating anything at all sweet after 6pm last night!), so didn't have to have a blood test after all. Measuring 35cm at 36 weeks, so this is good.
Then just as we were leaving she wanted to make an appointment for 2 weeks time, and I asked if I needed to see her about my homebirth. Then she said about new protocol says that women wanting a homebirth have to have a scan to check the presentation of baby. Never heard of this before, but I don't mind in the slightest at having a peak at my baby!! So, we have a scan booked for 23 May, when I will be 37+5 weeks. She said not to worry if I go into labour between 37 weeks and that time, that I will still be allowed my homebirth.
Had a very sleepless night last night. Started with bad backache while I was stood up making the tea, and it progressed to Braxton Hicks, and then when I went to bed had babd period pains and backache too. Didnt sleep at all well, and then ds1 and ds2 were both up at 5.15am!! Dont know why they were up a whole hour earlier than usual, but it means that I am really tired now! Pains went when I got up to go to the loo at some time this morning, so Im not worried about anything starting. Midwife seemed quite concerned though .
Anyway, just wondered if anyone had heard about these scans for homebirths??
