Midwife appointment..

Well im going for my first midwife appointment on thursday and im totally crapping myself.. being a first time mother.. not knowing how anything goes.. im overweight and i just know ill get digged at for it.. i just want to have a nice caring midwife so badly.. lol..
Bit annoyed that im not approx 13-14 weeks pregnant just having my first appointment now.. i just feel so out of control..

anyone got any first appointment stories??

aww hun, hopefully you'll get a mw who's a lovely as mine. the first booking appointment (over here) is normally done at your house, but because i was having trouble with my mum and step dad she was happy to see me at the docs, on a saturday, so she had to open up the surgery.

i also was worried she'd look down on my for being a single mummy, but she was lovely! she really took an interest in me and what i want to do with my life. she explained tons of stuff, but assured me she expected me to forget most of it by the next time i saw her (which i did)

she took my blood pressure, and listened to baby's heartbeat, which was amazing.

aaaw.. thats so nice of her..!! see.. its when people tell me things like that i think that it will be alright.. lol..
Its always good to have someone to reassure you isnt it.. cos im really scared.. like.. it was unplanned (but will be very much loved).. and i knew (and still know) nothing.. im hoping i get to listen to the heartbeat. that would be cool.. im still.. even though ive been poorly with it.. thinking somehow ill go to the midwifes.. and she'll be like.. "you're not even pregnant".. paranoid or what..

i was convinced she'd tell me i wasnt even pregnant lol

good luck and let us know how you get on. and dont worry about baby not being planned! mine wasnt planned, and im on my own now, but when i explained the whole situation to her (how much of a c**k myex is) when she saw my face when i heard the hb for the first time, her exact words, (and these will stay with me forever) were 'sod your ex, who needs him, thats your little baby right there'

eeeh.. it went ok actually.. she was like.. "you're overweight.. but i guess you already know that".. just blunt.. but i can take blunt... getting my bloods taken was horrible.. and made me sick in her sink.. lol.. but at least she then saw my rash that comes up whenever im sick.. which she said not to worry about as its probs just a nervous reaction to things..
phew phw phew.. i feel so relieved..
