Midwife appointment

Just got back to work from my midwife appointment.

She said I have the perfect pregnancy, and that if I keep on I will get the water birth I want. (YAY!!)

Also, I just said in passing that on Monday at work my belly went hard as a rock, and I got a period pain feeling (don't know how else to describe it). Turns out I had a contraction not a BH, and I am to keep an eye on the times when it is happening. I am not getting my hopes up that I will have the baby on time, I still think he/she will be late.

But all round good appointment.

Really i thought Braxton hicks where pain with tightening the only difference between them and real contractions is they dont get much worse and they dont become regular... thats what my midwife told me, i must have been having contractions for months if thats the case lol x

i was just thinking that...sometimes i get tightenings with period pain......x

No idea girlies, I was taking it as a BH when it happened. I probably will still see it as a BH when it next happens. Midwives, they all tell you different.

How did your MW know it was a contraction rather than a BH?
