Metformin

Anyone had to take this during pregnancy? I was given some on Friday as my blood sugars aren't staying stable enough (crazy, as I have a really healthy diet), but it's already causing me to feel nauseous (as if 16 weeks at the beginning wasn't enough), have stomach ache and diarrhoea (even with my iron tablets!!!).

yes i take metformin and inject insulin,

I know this is a late reply but I was on metformin and it didn't agree with me at all so I had to be taken off it and put on insulin. X

Thanks for your reply. Metformin isn't too bad now, seem to be tolerating it ok as the side effects are starting to settle. Now that I'm taking it 10 mins before eating (rather than the advice on the box - during/after a meal), it's actually working to reduce my blood sugars too (at last)!
